Poster "LostInSpace" has transcribed for us the tidbit from this week's TV Guide magazine which reveals the scoop on Christopher Eccleston's upcoming Heroes character.

Here it is:

Claude, an invisible man played by British actor Christopher Eccleston (Doctor Who), appears January 22. "He's been living with his invisibility for many years and has come to grips with it, so he'll give us a different view into this hero world," [Heroes creator Tim] Kring explains. "He's big, imposing and charismatic, and will become a mentor to Peter - albeit a tough, reluctant and stern one. He'll help Peter learn to use and control his powers."

Now i feel christmas is an annoyance i can't wait for the way they are heading with the storylines...

Evolution is so much fun now why don't they teach this in schools instead...

Dr. Who can play that part very well too lovely...

Thanks for the shoutout and scan, Craig. The real thanks goes to a US buddy who told me about it (I'm just the messenger here). When we first posted the news for discussion at this thread, folks weren't willing to get excited about the news b/c no one had seen the issue (or scans) yet!

I think it's fantastic news. Perfect for the show, the actors and fans. Am looking forward to the next "evolution" of Peter next year. -lis

I know what you mean. But you never know. He might "die" but it will turn out how really survived. They like to do that, too.

Wow, an invisible Dr. Who! I'm very happy that Eccleston is joining the cast - I also wonder if he can become visible again, because I can't imagine not seeing his gorgeous face around. (I adore ascetic-looking men!)

For some reason this makes me think of the guy on the subway who teaches Patrick Swayze in 'Ghost.'

I suspect he's learnt to turn it on/off as needed, otherwise how else would you survive for so long? Also, as some have speculated too, when he becomes invisible, hopesfully there'll be cuts where we (viewers) and Peter can see him while the others can't.

Wow, this is great news . . . It will be so tough waiting over a month for that to happen! I think, that the invisible man will have to know how to become visible, as it seems that most of the Heroes' powers are controlable.

Can't wait!

Yeah...I'd walk 500 miles (or light years even) to see his gorgeous face! I was an avid fan of this series before, now I'll be totally glued.

An invisible man, eh? Does that mean he doesn't have to show up for filming if he doesn't want to? Just phone his dialogue in? wink.gif

Cool, I like Chris E tons. I do wonder how this will interact with Peter though. I had heard somewhere a rumor that Peter's contract had conflicts or wasnt going to be renewed. You cant mentor a character that isnt on the show. I hope that was a bad rumor then. I'd LOVE to see Chris mentoring Peter, and Peter, who was my least favorite character in the whole cast (even lower than the non-heroes) has moved to #5.

(Faves are Nathan, HRG, Claire, and Hiro, in that order).

See, I thought the same thing, but after Homecoming Peter moved up lots for me. Anyone who's willing to go up against a superpowered being without any real superpowers of their own is a true hero to me.

(My Favs in order Hiro, Claire, Peter, Nikki and Sylar)

That's great! I loved him as The Doctor. I do hope they don't kill him so he can do future guest spots.

I would be willing to be that he can turn himself invisible/visible, and if not if peter copies his powers, we will be able to see them both. my 2 cents.

A reluctant mentor hey?
Maybe he can be like Dr Perry Cox and call Peter a different girl's name every episode and slip some valuable lessons into long winded insults.

Hey, Slightly off topic but how does one (or two even) pronounce Christopher Eccleston's surname? is it Ekleston or some foreign sounding combination of c's?

Awesome! Who's next in line to join Heroes? I don't suppose Bill Goldberg can play a part in Heroes. How about Edward Furlong? He made a guest appearance on CSI:NY and he played it well and maybe there's something for him to play a part in Heroes!

Looking forward to the '2nd half' of Season 1! Save New York! Save the World! ;-)

I'm just tickled they named him Claude. There's been something either plot-wise or offshoot referncing to every character's name so far and this is no exception.

The original cinematic Invisible Man was played by Claude Rains. His most famous role and really the only one most people remember him for.
