The December 18 issue of TV Guide magazine features an interview with creator Tim Kring talking about the character death in last week's episode, "Fallout."

TV Guide's Dec. 18 issue should be hitting subscriber mailboxes now, and it will be hitting newsstands later this week.

The same issue also features Masi Oka as part of a "My Big Year" feature.

Well, if he continues to introduce so many characters, I guess some will have to die off.

But I hope he doesn't do that too often because if these main characters are died off, well, the show will be different. It is almost like ER, all the original casts are gone, and now, the show is just not the same. And it took ER 10+ yrs...

Part of why I love this show is their commitment to a comic book style. They even follow the time-honored tradition of killing off beloved characters.

Sometimes someone needs to go. I know none of us wanted to see Eden die, but everyone has to die sometime. However, I think the "Big Three" characters will be safe for at least a little while. :(

I think Adrian Pasdar said his character is safe from the grim reaper for the forseeable future as well.

Some times some people gotta go...but i think that refers to people like Issac, ted, and sylar, maybe even the Haitian and mat/Audry.

Peter and Claire may be brother and sister since there saying they will never ever hook up, so i think there safe.

And i would stop watching the show out of spite if they killed Hiro!

Well Greg Grunberg must be doing a good job "buttering up" Tim Kring because I just walked by him filming a scene for an upcoming episode here in downtown Los Angeles (about 5 blocks from where they filmed the final scene - Peter's dream sequence - from Fallout). He was in a blue suit (not police uniform), standing next to a dark blue suburban waiting for his scene. I was amazed to see him stay "in character" and focused with about 15 girls/women screaming at him to get a picture. I took a picture with my cell phone and I will try to upload it.

Can't believe we have to wait so long!

Of course, if they really follow the comic-book traditions, characters who had died will come back to life when the fans complain loudly enough. In fact, at the end of an episode, an shadowy character will enter the room, and one of the heroes will turn to them (and the camera), gaze in astonishment, and cry, "But, but it can't be! You're.. dead!" Aaaaaaaaaaand cut.

Matt can't die. Greg Grunberg is the best actor on the show.

really? sorry, but i think the exact opposite, and think he is actually the worst actor. to me, it seems like he's trying for the oscar in every scene he is in. just the way he talks, like when he's with ted, drives me nuts.

Or they don't because she's a 17 year old high school student & he's almost 30. I know it's not unheard of with such an age gap, I just don't think the show will go there.
