I agree with the people who have seen the pilot. I loved it, it was very well written and acted. I can't wait to see what Greg Grunberg brings to the show.

i just got to say that this show serieously impressed me, not only did it have a really strong cast that made you really interested but there was something about the style of the piece that kind of made it realistic... if you compare it to other attempts at superhero shows such as mutant-x, which was ok but kinda cheesy to be sure.
i also was kind of sad that it was nathan who flew, but at the same time it made a really nice plot twist cause you actually did expect the kid to fly. now not only do we have a plot about how nathan will use his powers or exploit them for political gain and another plot as to how this will affect peter since he now has to deal with that fact that he may not be as special as he hoped...
again you can see the kind of lost style in this is a show that is allready setting itself up for a long run even hints and ideas of stories that wont even be toched untill a second or even third season.
im not as big a lost fan as most but lost has showed us the power of a serialised show which i think hasnt been achievied. most shows while linked by a long plot line still tend to still keep episodes with stand alone stories but ashow like heroes really is something that needs a big serialization and i like that cant wait for it to air properly.. lets keep fingers crossed for sucess

We're so glad that you're all liking the show. And yes, X-men #143 is indeed the wrong issue. I wish we could say that we did that intentionally to test the true fans, but really... it was just a goof. We can admit when we've done wrong.

It will be fixed by the time it hits the air. #141

Well, if it doesn't kick of strong there is always Sci-Fi which NBC owns. I'm not saying that it won't because a lot of you here have it pegged a major player among shows this fall. I've watched the previews all summer and am excited to see this premiere.

At leasts it's not "Who wants to be a Super Hero?" while a bit corny has been pretty good. Which I've been following in wait for this show. biggrin.gif

I've didn't saw the pilot, and I haven't a chance to watch heroes on september sad.gif , cause I live in Austria. I've only read the description and I'm sure, heroes will be the best new show! I hope I could see the show so quick as possible!

I had to improve my english to understand Heroes in english dry.gif

I think Heroes is going to be absoluetly awsome! I think it'll end up being at least as popular as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, esspecially considering all the buzz it has been getting.

I've seen the pilot screener and well, the one shown at SDCC was much much more intense and tighter. I really love how Grunbergs story ties in with a few of the other plotlines.

Though I know Jeph said that that was the only time they would ever air that version of the pilot I really hope that it might be included when the first season DVD set comes out.

^ Yeah. I think that's what most of us are hoping biggrin.gif And hopefully, it'll be included in the DVD. It would be a shame if the Director's Cut would only be seen once by a few thousand (hundred?) people. I know I'd pay to see it.

Much as I love Buffy, I hope this show is much more popular than she was. Buffy only survived because she was on UPN and the WB; she wouldn't have lasted a season on a major network with her ratings. If Heroes gets Buffy numbers, it'll either be gone or consigned to one of NBC's associated cable networks.

May Heroes have ratings of Lost and fan devotion of Buffy. smile.gif (Of course, since there are A LOT of people doing the Lost experience during the summer - searching through the web for clues - Heroes would be lucky to have that kind of devotion as well.) Regardless, I am hoping that Heroes is a hit and will go for many, many seasons.

I think it will and surpass Lost..because we already have the #1 internet buzz...and Lost didn't even start gaining any real momentum until Half-way through it's 1st season! huh.gif

I just watched the pilot (the first half I guess, 54 minutes running time) yesterday. I'm totally in love with the show. I knew that it was something really awesome when the voice-over began and Peter jumped off that roof. I was jumping in front of the screen and yellign "Fly man, fly!" The music was cool. (wasn't it also used in Batman Begins in the very end just before credits?) Really very interesting show. Especially because the powers the different characters have are so weird and none of them are X-men type heroes but instead real people. Ali Larter kicks ****** (like her character)

P.S. Is Claire's father some kind of evil genius?

Well since its going to be released on iTunes sometime today a ton of people is going to beable to see it. So it should be like it just aired on TV. This is a forum created for the Pilot episode, if no one wants to know about it they don't have to read this thread.

Yeah, everytime I heard that music playing it exactly reminded me of Batman Begins

Well, technically until it airs on NBC it's not officially aired..and everything discussed before that is a spoiler..I love spoilers myself...but, there are some who want to read reviews and speculations..not spoilers..I personally don't care..but, come on show some respect already. wink.gif

Some sites take spoilers even more seriously. Since this site is open to people all over the world, and our TV shows usually take about a year before it airs in the UK, spoilers can sometimes be factored in as anything that has aired in the US in the last 2 years! (GateWorld specifically but I believe a Lost site or 2 also take this approach. Don't know for certain about Lost though...)

Technically speakin' I personally like to say anything that has NOT orginally aired in the country of orgin is a SPOILER...anything after that is pretty much fair game! tongue.gif

So I have to admit I loved the show. I got choaked up at the end becuase I didnt want it to be over. only thing I did not like was the fact that it was the congressman who can fly.
I hope that there is more to Milo's toon then what it seems.

The iTunes pilot still had the X-men #143 reference. Will there be any changes to the premiere compared to the iTunes version?

Just 'cuz you don't care doesn't mean it shouldn't get changed if possible. It would take a voiceover and caption change, but Hiro's supposed to be a comic book fan, so it would look better if he was shown as knowing the references correctly. wink.gif

I thought I read somewhere that they said somewhere that they were going to replace it in ADR?

Automated dialogue replacement. Commonly known as dubbing but known in the film/video industry as ADR.
