Hello all ,
Now that I've finally set them up, I just got word via Google alerts of what Chris' next project is. It's a film called Amelia about Amelia Earhart.B-)

"Amelia" now has a navigator, Christopher Eccleston, who is set toplay Fred Noonan. Noonan flew in the plane with Earhart when it disappeared over the pacific as she attempted to circumnavigate theglobe in 1937.

Eccleston takes the cockpit with Hilary Swank in Mira Nair-directed Amelia Earhart biopic for Avalon Pictures and Fox Searchlight.

Eccleston joins an impressive cast, which includes Richard Gere, Ewan MacGregor and Virgina Madsen. Looks like this film will be flying high at the theaters with a great cast.

At least we know where he went ... or if he hasn't gone yet where he will be. I'm still hoping to see him on Heroes. I'd be thrilled with at least one Claude-centric episode, provided he doesn't get killed.

Toronto...Drat. How long does it take to renew a passport? I just found mine a few weeks ago but it expired in 2002! Oh well. At least Chris is working and I have another project of his to look forward to.

Christopher Eccleston will jump from an evil turn in "G.I. Joe" to a co-starring turn with Hilary Swank in "Amelia."

The biopic of Amelia Earhart will be directed by Mira Nair for Avalon Pictures and Fox Searchlight.

According to Variety, Eccleston will play Fred Noonan, who served as aviator Earhart's (Swank) navigator when she attempted to circumnavigate the globe in 1937. We all know how that turned out, or else we were dozing in history class.

Also starring in "Amelia" are Richard Gere, Ewan MacGregor and Virginia Madsen.

Eccleston, who plays the villainous Destro in the "G.I. Joe" feature, is probably best known to audiences for his work in "eXistenZ" and "Jude." No, seriously, viewers are probably more likely to recognize him as the frequently invisible Claude from the first season of "Heroes" and for his run as the title character in "Doctor Who."
