“The world is like a ride in an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?" And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride." And we kill those people.”

Just so you know, I'm not gonna be on much after today and until next Tuesday/Wednesday. I have a plane to catch first hour tomorrow, and it's a cross-country flight so that's a half a day gone, and on Friday I'm gonna be really busy with RL stuff; I'll still try to squeeze in at least one post on each day, but all the way through the weekend and until I'm back there's 99,9% chance that I won't have time to so much as check my e-mails. I expect that by Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning I'll be back to my usual schedule.

I apologize for any inconveniences this might cause. >_>

DHS NPC'S.

The fix squad.

Name: "The Fixer"
Age: 35
Ability: Electro-magnetic interference. Basically his brain produces interference for any electromagnetic signals around. This power is passive, meaning it can't be turned off(except for a blocker) and the only thing that he can do is increase or decrease the intensity of his signal. By interfering with electrical signals, he can make any electronic devices nearby malfunction. He can also interfere with the brains neuro-electric signals, by sending interference in different wave lenghts he can interfere with specific brain functions, by doing this he can paralyze, knock out, or make someone not use their abilities. Also, since his brain is always emmiting this interference even at low intensity, telepaths, mind controllers or clairvoyants would only get interference if trying to tap into his brain.
Power limitations: His power is always active, which means that if he wanted to use an electronic device it would malfunction, this power is enormously based on emotions, even with high levels of control, emotions tend to make the power unstable. He can't make his power "not affect" someone that he wished it didn't affect.

Name:
James Black.
Age: 27
Ability: Energy force fields.

Name: Andrea Ward.
Age: 28
Ability: Retrocognition

These guys are really, really temporary, btw. Like they'll be there to handle the situation at the loft and that's all. Snow just asked nicely, and I thought it was a nice touch, since the government's had mostly inconsequential/incompetent people so far, to have some good DHS agents kicking bum.

I'll post later, maybe a short one soon. Finally got my math - hate it - homework done, so I'm pretty clear, but there's various trifles in the way, I'll be able to full on post like 10:30 - 1ish.

Stuff for players to know:
Brennan: feel free to go to the FBI HQ in LA. I'll tag you once you're there.

Name: Darell Rochester

Age: 29

Ethnicity: Caucasian

Birth Place: Boston Massachusetts

Appearance: Definitely the preppy boy, Darell can usually be found in a nice suite while at work. Off the clock (which is usually never since he's on call 24/7) He's a jeans and t-shirt type of guy.

Ability: Advanced Intuition This ability allows Darell to "know things" ahead of time. This could range from him grabbing an extra battery before he leaves the house (to find that the one in his phone dies halfway through the day) to not taking the subway even though he normally does every day (to find that the same train that he would have gotten on had gotten hijacked.) The downside to the ability is that it's completely spontaneous, and he has no control over it. Thus you couldn't ask him which box held the bomb in it and expect to give you a 100% answer, though it probably wouldn't hurt to go along with his guess! The most dangerous part of this ability is it's power to take away Darell's free will. He has to learn to not always rely on his ability since it's not always 100% accurate.

By the way I know this is confusing, but it makes sense to me! lol I got the inspiration from Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas novels. If you're familiar with the book, then he has all of Thomas' abilities except that of seeing and communing with the dead... (Unless of course that part was okay with the GM's! lol)

History: Darell lead a pretty normal life up through college, from which he graduated top of his class with a degree in Political Science. As long as he could remember he had always just known things, and his luck was also a bit above average. It wasn't until he was 25 that he realized that he was a Godsend, with the incredible ability of Advanced Intuition, or what he likes to call "Just Knowing what isn't there". After college he moved around a bit, trying to find his niche in life. After working with a few politicians, he was hired from over 2,000 applicants to fill the position of Tracy's assistant, and ever since he's lived in the White House. Tracy tells him just about everything, and he considers her one of his closest friends. He has somewhat of a crush on the First Lady, but of course doesn't show it. (or at least tries not too...) His relationship with Nathan is pretty much non-existent.

Family: His mother and Father live a nice middle class life in the suburbs of Boston. He has two brothers and a sister, all of whom have professional jobs and live nice cozy middle class lives. Needless to say, he doesn't see much of any of them.

Yeah I was surprised too... I knew for a while now, but it was surprising ohmy.gif

I couldn't see him Badass until last monday when he threw that water on Elle, just until that point could I see him as Red Tie...

Anyway, another long DHS post. I think I did well on explaining why they are not going after the rest of the rogues.

Lol that was the hardest part deciding why they shouldn't go after the others tongue.gif

Playing catch-up...

Lyle! I was right! I was actually thinking it might be him from the moment he was introduced as the son of someone who worked for the company, whose identity was a shocker, and then again when he was described as "vanilla". Then I half-dismissed the idea as crazy.

Brennan, Darrel's power reminds me a bit of Matrim Cauthon (who's incredibly lucky) from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time. Does he gamble much?

(Love that series, even though I never got past book 7 sad.gif )

But yea, I mean it's kind of similar. I mean if he where playing cards, his intuition might kick in and then there would be a good chance of him winning.

The only problem is he has to try and decipher whether it's his ability pushing him to do something, or his natural brain process... This could cause him problems ohmy.gif

Oh, and I posted my sheet Oly! rolleyes.gif

LOL

Well, I stopped reading about a year ago, so I'd have to start all over I'm thinking... The 7th book got pretty dry to me... (Maybe it had something to do with the desert?)

But yea, My mom has read 'em all and and she has this guide thingy to it that I read before starting the books... It spoiled a lot for me, which kinda threw me off.

It's pretty sad though that the author died... sad.gif

Yeah, about hitting the ground running... I may not be able to post until Monday, mainly because of small things, but we'll see what happens on Friday. I may be able to get a post in there. This has been one of those off weeks for me... :/

Whatever you guys decide to do though is fine with me.
