The Wizard World convention is happening in Chicago this weekend, and one of Heroes' talented writer/producers, Jeph Loeb, will be making an appearance.
I hear that a special Wizard World Chicago variant cover to the Heroes comic book will be given away. The Comic-Con variant is already going for high prices on Ebay, so, you may want to try and get a copy!
But the most important event at the convention - one you can take part in - is a special auction of original artwork from Superman/Batman #26 with the proceeds going toward the Sam Loeb College Scholarship Fund.
The Fund is in the memory of Sam Loeb, a very talented young man (and son of Jeph) who passed away at the age of 17 last year. I had the pleasure of meeting Sam a few times and I have to say, every story you heard about what an amazing kid he was, was 100% true.
The goal is to raise enough money so that the Scholarship Fund will go to the young person from Sam's high school "who best captures what Sam was all about -- Brilliant. Funny. And has a healthy disrespect for authority," as Jeph Loeb said in a Newsarama interview.
You can find out more about the auction (and the Wizard World con!) at SamLoeb4.org.
