Maybe I missed a subtitle somewhere, but I'm confused about the time frame in this episode. It seemed like Issac and Hiro both went back to 5 weeks prior to the 2nd episode, but no one else did? I mean, Peter's "suicide attempt" (flying attempt) was noted as happening by his brother. Wouldn't that not have happened yet if it really went back to 5 weeks prior for everyone? To me, it really seemed like only Issac (and his gf) and Hiro were affected. What did I miss?

all of the action of the first two episodes BESIDES Hiro's took place on October 1-2, I believe Hiro jumped back to October 2 or 3 at the end of Episode 2. Basically he jumped back to be at the same point that everyone else had been. What Hiro saw in New York (Isaac's death) was in the future... I hope that helps.

I'm pretty sure when Hiro is in the future, the present still plays out and keeps going. Then, when he comes back, it's as if he was never gone...?

I dunno ... I'm confusing myself.

He was gone for two days when he returned to the "present".

Hiro was the only one to go to the future. Isaac didn't go anywhere at all. It's just that Hiro saw the future version of Isaac on November 8.

Then, Hiro returned to October 2.

Ok, amongst all my rambling, I think I understand now. Everyone starts at some unknown date, likely the end of August. Only Hiro's portions of the show are in the future (October 2), and so when he goes back to the present (in episode 3), he's in sync with everyone else's present time again. PHEW!

WOOPs! Wrong again! Ok right, October 2 is the present and November 8th is the actual day when the explosion happens and Issac dies in NY. Phew, ok really have it now, THANKS!

Thanks for the responses guys. It's still quite confusing, though. It was October 2nd when Hiro saw the explosion in NY though. When he called his friend he had been missing for 5 weeks, so that means really, the current date should be around the end of August.

Anyhow, all the action in the first 2 episodes did take place around Oct 1-2, like you said, but that's the day when NY was hit by the bomb. So even if only Hiro went back in time (which I believe to be true) why is Issac now alive again, and still no one else's scenario was rewound a bit at all. Were they all on different dates except for that one scene with Hiro and Issac?

Yeah, you got it, the explosion is November 8th, so now they have about a month to stop NYC from going boom.

For an amazing observation check out Gargy's post about the scene in ep2 when Hiro teleports back to 10/2.
