Anyone think that it could be an awesome twist if Jackie was the cheerleader that needed saving instead of Claire. I mean, I know that it is most likely Claire, but why not just say "Save Claire the cheerleader" or something like that instead of just "save the cheerleader".
Spiderkeg
Yeah, I get what you're saying. Nothing specific was said, except "Save the cheerleader" which could apply to a girl who isn't Claire. I could see the writers doing something that twisted.

Though I strongly feel that this isn't the case, based entirely on Issac's paintings of Claire in trouble.

There are also future scenes in which Peter is saying, "This cheerleader is in trouble, we need to save her."

Those were future Hiro's words, right?

"Save the cheerleader. Save the world."
Efrim
Maybe in the future Sylar absorbs Claire's regeneration and become unstoppable, preventing this from happening will make it possible for the others to defeat him. Just a thought...

Hiro just said he had a message from the future. He never said "Save the cheerleader."
Viper
Well theres only one cheerleader to save, thats Claire. All of Isaac's paintings are of Claire, and not Jackie.

That isn't Hiro saying it. That was a commercial for the next ep. and that was the normal announcer guy.

I just wanted to point out that 'Save the Cheerleader. Save the world.' may not be connected in the way we think. I mean, yes, this is pure speculation, but what if that is simply 2 different objectives and not fully related? We don't know that Saving the cheerleader saves the world, only that they must save the cheerleader AND save the world.

Could be but if they were not related I think the "save the cheerleader" part would not even be relevant. If you didn't have to save the cheerleader in order to be able to save the world then for goodness sakes save the world and forget about the cheerleader!

What I'm thinking... is that there is going to be a nuclear explosion right?

Ok, soooo, it says, Save the Cheerleader, save the world..

Maybe Claire is the one who can prevent the nuclear explosion for whatever reason. Maybe there is some type of hazard to go through to stop it that only she can survive... which would explain it all together.

Actually, if you watch the preview for next week, Hiro did NOT say that, it was a little girls voice. I think it was the little girl that Matt rescued. She and her parents were obviously gifted, that is why Sylar is after her. Maybe she has mental powers too? Just something to think about.
Dangard Ace
Actually it sounds more like a little boys voice whispering.

My sig has 'Save the cheerleader. Save the world.' in it! WOO!
xperiment626
I think the whole save the cheerleader, save the world thing is a bit more complicated.
Remember when Hiro and Ando saved the little girl from being hit by the truck? Well, the truck swerved toward the girl when Ando stepped out to try and stop it.

I think that Claire could be on a dark path. If she is indestructable, she could put in motion a chain of events leading up to what happens in 5 weeks in new york.

Kind of like Yoda said...anger is the way to the dark side.
Claire is a wild card...she may be super powerful, but to what end will she use her power? THAT could be what they need to save her from...at least that what I think for now...

I don't know.. Isaac's last vision shows Claire running away in terror from a huge shadowy figure.. and the homecoming banner is covered in blood.

There are also clips in previews of Peter saying "I think she needs our help" after looking at the paintings of her.

It doesn't sound like she's joining the dark side just yet. smile.gif

i hear a lot of speculation that if Sylar eats Claires brain he'll gain her regeneration ability, but i don't think that's true, just because in the episode where Matt shot him down he regenerated and then flew off. unless adding her regeneration ability to his own gives him some kind of multiplier of insane awesomeness, i don't see that really being the reason why Claire needs saving. At this point i'm not entirely too sure why she'd be so important other than that when she learns how to fight she'd be tuff to kill or that she'll help bring the downfall of her stepdad

We don't know that saving the cheerleader saves the world but why else would they air it that way. Obviously, if you save the world you will save the cheerleader too. But when the two are placed together it becomes Save the Cheerleader AND you then save the world.
Briar
maybe sylar comes to kill/steal/brainmunch claire during the homecomming and he goes carry style on them all?

obviosly without the pig's blood.

but the comment:

"Save the cheerleader. Save the world." could be read also as
"Save the cheerleader; save the world."

Its one of the peculularities of english. Just like hte verb to marry.

A man can marry a woman two ways. He can either officiate the wedding, or be the groom!

So maybe they have to save claire to save to world, or maybe they have to save claire, then save the world.

wtb next episode. pst.

Again Isaac can only see the future that affects the heroes... so all his paintings have the heroes in them one way or another!
