If they don't mean "save the cheerleader" in sort of mushy moral sense, but in the very physical staying alive sense, there must be a way she could die. Brain removal, anyone?

I think that was the whole point of her "death" in the series. Part of the mythos of this series is that people get "abilities" but they make it sound as if it's the next evolutionary step.

Thus, Claire's powers seem to stem from a certain part of her brain (that was impaled by the stick). So, if this part of the brain were irrevocably damaged (which would be hard considering that once the stick was removed, she was able to start healing again), then Claire could indeed die.

If every "hero" had their "abilities" located in the same part of the brain, it could explain Sylar's fascination with them.

Errr, no. Removing the brain would simply cause it to grow back like it did when the coroner pulled the stick out of Claire's head.

well i'm sure if she was totaly oblitarated, say in a nuke baom, then she will die.

I don't believe that the entire brain could grow back, anyway. It seems that parts need to be placed back together in order to heal, like when she pushed her ribs back in during the first episode. Hence, bits of the brain, like those stuck on the stick, may be able to regenerate, but recreating an entire brain would be impossible.

I'm thinking that she can regenerate any part of her body.

The only reason why she couldn't regenerate is because the stick was blocking the parts that needed fixing.

So it wouldn't matter what you took out, her cells would still grow back.

I wonder if a tiny little Claire cell could form into a human, which would be insane, since not even a nuclear explosion could kill her.

Just speculating.
