Full Version: Take The One. Claires and Mysterious Black Guy Are Good I Think
9th Wonders Boards > Episode Discussions > Season One > #4: "Collision"
MrFantastic
i was watching a heroes commercial when a quick scene made me rewind and slow motion it. it is claires dad and the black guy and nathan standing i some desert looking area, nathan is facing the camera and he only has on some sort of sweatpants no shirt and claires dads and the mysterious black guy are in front of him with there back to the camera, its just a quick scene. but what happens is nathan just jumps in the air and starts to fly and claires dad and the black guy are just standing in front of him watching then it ends. its was during a quick montage of 5 seconds clips of scenes during a commercial, but what leads me to believe there good is that they dont have him restrained there just watching him. kinda interesting what do you guys think has anyone else seen it? sorry for the long read

Plausible but why did Claire's daddy have his gun drawn and pointed at where Nathan was last on the ground!? blink.gif
MrFantastic

It'll be in this upcoming Monday's episode! smile.gif

Good guys are well known for restraining people agaiinst their will (Matt, at the beginning of the episode), "cleaning out" people's minds (MBG, implied by HRG at beginning of episode), abducting Congressional candidates from their hotel rooms, and chasing Congressional candidates at gunpoint within a fenced facility.

I think it'd be a good twist if HRG turned out to be good. But ... I doubt it.
Franzinator
Yeah HRG is definatly on the fence post know that you said that he could be good b/c if you take out all the evil music when they show him they could be interprited of protection of his daughter.

Accept for the fact that hes ripping out the cops brain along with the MBG which i think was good the first time i met him but now not so much!

Who really knows till we know more!
hempingway
It seems to me that Mr. Bennet and MBG may be actually guiding and guaging the Heroes one at a time. I think they're doing this because they know about Sylar and know they can't take him out themselves...
jw0ollard
If HRG was a villain, why would he be thinking about Claire when he had Matt strapped down to that table?

They don't normally portray villains, murders, etc. as having any kind of emotional capacity.

I don't know. HRG had a creepy, yet benevolent vibe in "Collision".

I think he'll be good.

That's possible... But every time they have the voice over guy doing his thing, they show HRG or MBG and the voice over is all "face of eeeeevil."

Could just be a misdirection, though.

I look at the show as being "all-misdirection, all the time" laugh.gif

Heh... not a bad policy to adopt. smile.gif

exactly : )

im feeling a little bit of the ploy action going on there. on the other hand, they rarely show villains as being soulless in more modern movies. In the old-school, comic style setting bad guys were bad (damn commies) and good guys were good (go captain america!). But in this show, where our heroes are not black and white (deserved or not, crashing someone into a wall at high speed is generally not the definition of a "good" thing to do) our villains don't have to be either. Mr. Bennett may have been following the evil plan, assuming that this sort of thing could never happen in HIS family (read: X-Men biggrin.gif) but now that it has he is concerned for his daughter.
Force Adept
Maybe HRG and Mysterious Black Guy are trying to form some sort of Hero group, like Xavier did with the X-Men?
SunshineRae
I don't get the new guy. I like how there are heroes and then there are the bizarro versions of them, or so it seems. I've read that people think the new guy is the one from BUFFY, but it sure doesn't look like him. It looks like Tyrese. What do yall think?

You must be a guy, cuz Claire driving that guy into a wall...you know the one that raped her, dragged her body, and tried leaving her for dead...was the very least she could do. She's better than one of the good guys, she's a GOOD WOMAN!

I assume you're talking about "Mysterious Black Guy" who is working with Horn Rimmed Glasses? If so, that's because he's not the guy from 'Buffy.' The guy from 'Buffy' is D.L., Niki's husband ( or boyfriend ) and Micha's father, who has only been seen so far in the previews of upcoming episodes seen during the Sunday night marathon and in some promotional artwork for the show.

Yeah, with the "face of eeeevil" voice overs and his actions so far, he just seems so obviously a bad guy that I'm really beginning to think that he is actually good - though apparently a "ends justify the means" sort fella.

I mean, it's not like he's impaling people to walls and ceilings and stealing brains, right?
Foenix
I like the idea of Mr. Bennet being good, but slightly amoral. Will make nice conflict amongst the heroes, without having an actual bad guy.

Conflict amongst your protagonists is always a good thing.
