Okay, so this is reply something in another thread, but it was a little off subject, so I decdided to make a new thread about it.

Okay, so I hear a lot of people prediciting various things about Isaac and how he will realize that he doesn't need drugs and will quit doing them. And it seems like people are thinking that IF and when Isaac thinks he doesn't need to shoot up to look into the future, he will magically stop. Even if he does not need to get high to make these paintings (which I think he does) he will still have an incredibly hard time trying to quit, and I doubt that he will stop. I mean he was trying to quit before he realized he needed it to predict the future, and he couldn't then.

I'm not trying to be a pesimist, or trying to say he can't do it. It would be great if he could, I would be all for it. I am just trying to bring people back to reality.

As a TV show it'd be stupid for them not to make it a constant struggle or entire story arc. Everyone who's said he will quit assume this without stating it I'm sure.

Honestly I think he will be dying soon

I doubt he will quit before he dies, it has already shown him int he future dead, I don't think Hiro will be able to save him

As much as I like Isaac, and dont want him to die, I expect him to.

I don't know if he is going to die or not. I think that his "power" is a great storytelling and suspense building tool for the show.

As for him quitting the drugs... I don't think that's a good idea, either. I agree that it makes for better TV if he is in that constant struggle.

It also makes more sense that he can't use his power without them. According to the story, the powers are genetic in nature. It's possible that his brain can't access the power without the presence of the heroin.

Issac can't die... his artwork is a big part of the beauty of this show... he can stop using as much and can still struggle with addiction but not let it get the best of him... it would be stupid for them to his character with his addiction as it is... it will start ticking off too many people if they do

I have a sneaking suspicion that he will die as well. While his art really defines the comic book-esque aesthetic for this show, it's just too convenient for them to have a hero who knows how to predict the future consistently for future seasons would get stale. Either he will die or he will check into rehab and will continue to be a player in the next season.

Not necessarily. His paintings predict an event, but not exactly. The bus blown up in a terrorist attack, how was he to know it would be in New York, or Isreal, or England? I ask that question if Issac was able to stop events from unfolding. Same with the train wreck. If Issac had the power to prevent what his painting shows, he would have to know exactly what train and where. The painting on the floor of the city blowing up is obvious, but does he know when? Not at all. But Hiro does.

If anything, the charecter you'd take out for forseeing the future would not be Issac, it would be Hiro. Issac get's a glimpse, a small clue, but not the whole picture. (sorry, pun not intended <.< )

I wouldnt be surprised if they EVENTUALLY clean up his habit...drug addicted characters are hard to put up on a pedestal as a "Hero,"...but I think this will be an ONGOING storyline and not something resolved quickly.

perhaps he will overdose again, perhaps go into a coma or NEAR death...and eventually decide he'd rather live than be able to predict the future..OR he somehow manages to figure out how to do it with OUT the drugs...

I dont want to see him die, however, as the paintings make great hints at future episodes and possibilites, etc.

I have this suspicion as well. I really dont know why b/c there is definate reason to keep him but I think a blow this early might be shocking. Obviously not till very late in the season or maybe even next but I think hes DOOOOMED!
