So..Claire and the BioParents was a rused(as some people guessed). Then there was Claire's mom saying that they were scared when she was a baby because she had a cough? and had her checked because of that? Did Claire exhibit her powers as a baby? Discuss you're theories.
p.s. I'm really curious how the writers are going to make Claire's power something she can use offensively. Besides running herself into a wall in a car.

I think that was Horn-Rimmed Glasses' excuse to his ignorant wife to discover more about his adopted daughter and her abilities (assuming that he adopted Claire for that reason).
Did HRG memory wipe the REAL parents and steal Claire as a baby? That's the real question..
I got the feeling that they (Claire's Bio-Parents) where associates of HRG. I was starting to think that when Claire's mom mention that when she was a baby they discovered that chromosome in Claire this is how Suresh father discovered the way to track these people.
I believe HRG had no idea about Claire before they adopted Claire. I mean Claire's mom did say HRG freaked out about that "cough" when they found the chromosome. HRG was trying to reach Claire's birth parents when she was getting looked at. He was looking for answers.

I was thinking the same thing. Was wondering how long they've had the memory-wipe technology and how many ppl have had this done to them.
I'm sure Claire's real parents probably don't know she exists. (Her stepdad saw to that.)

I actually think they were her real parents. What quote would say that they were not? I actually thought that maybe they DO have powers and that they handed her over to H.R.G. so that he could protect her. They didnt' want her to run away or do anything stupid, so they didn't tell her that they had powers. Especially, I thought the mom's look when H.R.G. asked how they were feeling was very telling. It looked to me like she had wanted to say more, but they had agreed not to beforehand. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I think there's something deeper than that they are H.R.G's associates.

HRG's possible backstory. He has been mutant hunting for a longtime (since Claire was a baby). Has been using Suresh's chromesome research to find mutants same as Sylar and Suresh indirectly. Most likely located Claire from DNA search in adoption records. Claire most likely up for adoption because parents were killed by Sylar or were separted due to some unknown future role. HRG is part of secret org. Investigate killings as they are result of mutant activity. Sylar might be rogue org operative. HRG goals unknown outside of mutant location and cataloging, selective capture is for info gathering. Question remains is org aim elimination, suppression, control/manipulation, org research/watcher, or team building?

One inconsistency though. Mrs. Bennett mentioned that dear ol'dad freaked when he found out about the different chromosome and went "searching for the real parents." This means he didn't know who they really are so that discounts the agent possibility.

I'm not sure about that, but I will bet that the burning photo from the preview is of her biological parents, and HRG is the one burning it.
