Does Micah have powers or what? Talk about the son of Niki and D.L. here!
chevyjock
Well, you said it yourself... boy genius..
cigarmanblue
obviously he'll have some power of sorts, but be assured, they'll drag this one out for a while... laugh.gif
h0race
He's Forge.

Mark the time, I called it.
madartin
I say his power is his genious. Powers don't have to be amazing.
ZSGhost
Barring some amazing revelation, it looks like super-genius is his power.
Thik
Any 8 year old that can fix the logic board on a laptop has to have some kind of techology based powers..
Nikita Petrelli
Hey,
I am just wondering if anyone is in agreeance with me...I think that it is very possible that Micah might have some sort of power...I mean both of his parents have super powers it makes logical sense that he would have some sort of power.. let me know what yoou guys think. rolleyes.gif
Celumnaz
I think he has a clairvoyant/projection power of some sort. He definately has a power imo from what the cast and such have said interviews. Have never heard of Forge, but think his powers aren't limited to technology as is Forge's from what people say. It Can be applied to tech, but is not limited to it. I think he could build a computer out of a crystal with some kind of advanced clairvoyant/projection power.
Thik
and what do you base that on?
polyglotton
It seems to me that, Micah is not letting on to how much he knows and that genius is the tip of the iceberg. I think he has a combination of powers. He said he spoke to DL without Nikki's knowledge. This could have been through some means of hacking or something to that effect, which would explain the tech savvy, but Micah also seemed to be aware on some level of both his parents having some kind of power beyond normal human capabilities. Lastly he is very agreeable and complacent for the most part whenever his mother demands something odd from him. This makes me think he is more aware of the big picture. This made me surprised though when I saw him crying when Nikki was on the floor when he had always been so calm before. What do you guys think?
Celumnaz
if he can project through a clairvoyant power into an object, he can see the tiny cracks, flaws, natural flows of an object and with the projection part might be able to manipulate/align these natural imperfections into circutry.

like building a logic board, (he's super-genius yes) but I think he was able to "see" where he needed to lay the circutry.

I think he was able to clairvoyantly "see" what his mom was doing, possibly even be there with her if he was scared or lonely watching his mom Acting.

Possibly he could "see" that his dad was ok. Didn't "see" him walk out, but he knew his dad was ok because he could go look if he wanted, yep he's ok.

with the projection angle he might be able to put himself in a comic book and interact with it.

haha ok that last is pretty far... well, it's all speculation I don't know anything smile.gif
AJM
I think his power has something to do with fire

got that from next weeks preview
(Picture of Micah, then fire followed)
Stufsocker
One theory that I liked was based (I think) on the alternate pilot, in which Micah takes some money and runs away to DL. Someone suggested he might know where people are and what they're doing as long as he knows who he's looking for. He might be how they locate the cheerleader when no one else knows where she is.

Otherwise, boy genius and technophile isn't too shabby for a kid whose mother is a stripper and father is an escaped (but innocent) convict. He could be doing much worse.
h0race
I think you guys are right and his gift isn't restricted to technology. He's got some kind of paranormal intuition.
SweetLaura
I personally really think that his power is just genius.. but that's a perfectly good power! Think about how helpful he will be to all of the other Heroes.

The only issue i see i that there is already a hero with clairvoyance (Issac). Also the show does not show any evidence of overlaping powers.

Well, no, Isaac's power is precognition, which isn't the same thing as clairvoyance. Precognition is the ability to know details about the future. Clairvoyance is the ability to know details about the present.

That said, other than Micah's genius, I haven't really seen any evidence of powers. I mean, if he's as smart as he's supposed to be, it wouldn't take much to put two and two together about his parents' abilities.

in the very first episode Micah was reading 9th wonders and on the cover was the monster shown on this website, i am wondering if Hiro found his comic book self, and Claire is getting hers(paintings) could this be Micah's?
dand
tim kring has said that micah has power and its are diferent than his parents . i bet its a forge like power but the mind powers are interesting too.

i just hope micahs not ualura.its kinda lame
Thik
I posted this in another thread but it applies here too..

RL Story. As a child my mother was involved in some VERY shady business.. She sold drugs and prostituted herself among other things. Even though she tried to hide it from me, I always knew what was going on. I was about the same age as Michah. To her credit she had the same reasons as Niki/Jess, taking care of her child.

Anyway,I really think he 'knows' just because he does. Kids are not dumb and they have already told us that Michah is a genius. So why does his knowledge of his mother and father have to be any more than that?

I still just think he is a technopath or something similar.
rubio64
i agree, micah knows more than he is letting on to his parents. maybe once all the heroes get together we might see what micah's powers are.
Legend
I think his powers are a type of intiution...Things come easily to him..problem solving...even recognising other heroes powers. (xmen last stand) It would explain his geneous and mechanical abilities.

Anyone else annoyed by the way his parents treat him? He asks them a question about what's going on and all he gets it "Just trust me." Or Spoiler: He asks DL why they can't go back and save Niki and DL just tells him "Because we can't" or something along those lines.
peabodyseven
Not to belittle anyone's theory of Micah's complacency with everything happening around him, but I'm sure that everyone has noticed one of Micah's favorite comics is 9th Wonders. DL confessed that he read 9th Wonders when he was a boy, but that doesn't mean that Isaac was drawing it then (due to the age similarities between DL and Isaac), but is a whole NEW series of 9th Wonder comics that IS drawn by Isaac. Therefore wouldn't it make sense that in some of the earlier issues something was in the comics which told Micah all about Nikki and his own place in what is going on? I mean look at the issue that Hiro ummm..."bought".

Not really annoyed by it because it's sort of expected. Most parents don't tell the "hard truth" to their kids. Even Jessica -- I guess that's "evil" Niki's name now -- told Micah "Your dad and I are just moving some furniture" when he first walked in on their fight.

Did you expect her to say, "I'm killing your father"?

Or Spoiler:By the same token, DL would not tell Micah that his mother tried to kill him or that he tried to kill(?) Niki, even in self-defense. Parents simply don't (and probably shouldn't tell their kids things like that. Although the interesting thing is that that scene does show that, Micah, at least, knows his mother is alive.

ooohhhh.. you're right, didn't even think of that, that could definately be the way that micah 'knows' and the way he knew that DL was okay and innocent
HERΟ
I'm gonna go out on a limb and speculate that Micah's awesome power is that he can heal others of their infirmities. smile.gif Then it won't matter too much if any of the HEROES, like, let's say, his mom, appears dead. Or in the case of Matt or Brody, he can help them regain their memories. He'll just fix 'em right up and they'll be right as rain! cool.gif It's been "done" before, obviously, as a "super" power, but it doesn't mean TPTB couldn't have one of the HEROES who could heal...

It may end up that he's a technical whiz-kid, or maybe an all-around genius capable of accessing and controlling his fully-wired/connected brain and all possible mental functions, or even have other powers, but I think it would be great if "The Repairman" meant that, instead of fixing just inanimate objects or equipment, he was able to heal people! Here's the drawing he made:

Or maybe he can just set the time on his grandma's vcr... biggrin.gif

This thread's basically a duplicate of the first character thread made about Micah*. huh.gif Nice.

I've thought this too. So far his ability seems to be a budding form of insight. Not quite there but getting close. Much like a few of the other Heroes.

Insight
  • an instance of apprehending the true nature of a thing, esp. through intuitive understanding: an insight into 18th-century life.
  • penetrating mental vision or discernment; faculty of seeing into inner character or underlying truth.
  • Psychology.
    • an understanding of relationships that sheds light on or helps solve a problem.
    • (in psychotherapy) the recognition of sources of emotional difficulty.
    • an understanding of the motivational forces behind one's actions, thoughts, or behavior; self-knowledge.
  • The capacity to discern the true nature of a situation; penetration.
  • The act or outcome of grasping the inward or hidden nature of things or of perceiving in an intuitive manner.
Thik
You guys are reading far too much into his knowledge of his parents lives. Im telling you kids know far more than you are giving them credit for.

As far as him getting the information from the comics.. that is a stretch too. If they showed Hiro doing it I am sure they would show Michah doing it as well if that were the case.
Sylar Prime
Micah's power is one of two things:
Insane Intellegence- My vote goes here. His parent's relationship isn't the clue here, Thik is right there, kids know more than we think. The clue here was the logic board on his computer. The ability to perform that kinda work, in the morning, all before school, is rather insane.

Shape Shifting/ Alter Monster Ego- This is the Uluru camp's side. What supports this is that when asked what Micah's power was the creator said "He doesn't have either of his parent's power". He doens't say that Micah doesn't have a combination of both parent's power. He could change into an alternate personality which phases into an object and has it become part of him while he is transformed, in the case of the comic cover rocks. I personally don't swing for this idea.

Your 2 cents?

Don't you think that maybe the writers don't want to put ALL their aces on the table therefore spoiling a great surprise? You have to remembeer that it's ISAAC who is drawing this comic..WE have no idea what Micah has seen in it so far.
Meathead
I'm just waiting for him to bust out and kick some major kiester! biggrin.gif

Well, Micah has been upgraded from boy genius to technopath, just like Royal Pain in Sky High...
melchmon360
He is a techno path. If you watched Muten-X you'd know what they are. He can use and technology with his mind and possible some physical contact
The_Equalizer
Too sweet...I was jumpin up and down yellin I KNEW IT! lol
SimoneD
I loved the way he was able to tell the difference between Jessica and Nikki, so cool.
NightPhoenix
guess tonight answers the question as i suspected hes a technokenetic
ezequiel
Well, congrats to those who said that Micah had an Forge/Techno paower were right.

I was on wikipedia the other day and the prducers stated that micha dose have powers but they will be compleatly different from his parents they state that their exsact natetur at this time is unknown
Go! Go! Hiro!

I said it thousands of times before, the little guy is smart and he's gonna be able to work very VERY well with technology. Now maybe people will stop sayin his power is to see other people who have powers, THAT'S VERY VERY LAME PEOPLE!. By the way, here are the exact definitions of his powers. SO FREAKIN' COOL!

Technopathy- Technopathy also known as Cyberpathy is the super power to control technology, generally electronic although not limited by this, with one's mind.

So basically (if that's to complicated for you) it's like he could turn on a t.v. with his mind and change the channels or something like that that. Turn lights on with his mind and repair things technological like broken computers and radios and things with his brain. Although when he repaired the payphone he did have to touch it..

Although I wouldn't quite compare him to Forge from the X-Men because Forge's power actually allows him to MAKE anything having to do with technology, not control it with his brain although Micah may get to where Forge is one day. HOPEFULLY. Because that'de be AWESOME!!

cool.gif
styled_knight
There was also a technopath in the movie "Sky High". I think Micah may have other powers as well. He seems to be very wise and intuitive.
Nocterayne
I don't know about you guys, but I squealed in joy when he "healed" that telephone.
Papa Alucard
i wonder how he knew that it was jessica on the phone and not niki
NightPhoenix
nikki would have been " oh my god baby are you all right i am so worried about you where are you" but Jessica was all business "where are you at?" i wasnt even looking at the screen when that happened i was getting a pepsi and i knew it was the flip side nikki

Not to be rude Hero, but when you go out on that limb, saw it off behind you tongue.gif ...Apparently the power that Micah has he's been using for quite some time. Matt has to "separate" the non-essential thoughts from the one he wants and needs to focus hard to do it. Hiro seems to be constipated everytime he uses his powers, and Peter just hasn't quite come to terms with his "ability" yet. When Micah "fixed" the broken phone, he did it without batting an eye. And yet when DL listened to the phone all he got was static...Micah put the phone back without so much as a 'byyourleave'. I don't think he's a genius, but his power makes him 'aware' of electronics systems and how they should work and how they can be fixed. His knowledge of Jessica is probably due to an encounter with her that we never saw, OR he read it in the 9th Wonders comic. Jessica won't harm him because of what we saw in Vegas. Jessica is protective of Niki AND Micah, no matter what he says to her. Some theories of him building machinery "McGuyver" style may be a bit far-fetched--more than it is now.
Meathead
Man, I was hopping for joy when he made the phone work, and the look on DLs face when he came out and caught Micah at the tail end of the call was priceless.

Once again, Heroes throws me a wrinkle and I'm loving it.

I'm starting to suspect that his role in the series will continue to grow. biggrin.gif
seacrest
Wow, I thought his 1st power use in the show kinda blew. He put his hand up to the phone, and it works..wierd..and its not fixed at all just when dl gets it it stops..

Dont know why people were so hype for this...i thought it would have been way cooler..it did not even show what happened inside the phone...just that it started to work...cop out!...weak!

Sorry. This isn't CSI: Heroes. We don't need to 'see', we just need to 'know'. To 'see' the phone work you need to use an old power that most people in my day (I'm 56) had and could use without effort. It's called IM-AG-IN-AAAAAAAATION. Ever hear of it? tongue.gif
Meathead
peabodyseven> Don't worry, anybody that calls themselves Seacrest can't have imagination...and that's a large problem these days...no one seems to have one...just look for the replies to this post and you'll see how little imagination or hos short an attention span people have.

I didn't need to see the wires inside the phone reconfiguring themselves, or watch a phony looking spark travel along Babylon5 style rendered wires inside the phone before emerging Matrix-styles out the other end in Nikki/Jessica's ear to know that Micah was using his powers. I thought the low hum that came in sound effects-wise when he placed his hand next to the receiver was enough of a hint that he was using powers of some sort. And I knew that he would get Jessica because she scared the Hell out of Texas Tina...I don't need that CSI - follow the photoelectroluminescent spray to the blood spatter, jump zoom to the black hair on the white carpet in the shoe impression kind of effect to know what he was doing, I just knew, and was totally thrilled. biggrin.gif
