Full Version: The gift-wrapped box and the "Bio"parents
9th Wonders Boards > Episode Discussions > Season One > #6: "Better Halves"

Claire's "Bio Mom " is named Lisa.
When Claire's "Bio Parents" come to visit. it can be clearly seen that one of them is toting a gift-wrapped box with a red bow on it.
Later after the "Bio Parents" leave her house, the gift- wrapped box is still sitting on a table in the fore ground, and still unopened.
What is in the box??What will Claire, or HRG find when that gold box with the red bow is opened?
Many of you have a theory that the "Bio-Parents" are fakes hired by HRG to keep Claire in the dark about her birth parents.
I feel that at least, the "Bio Mom" is the real deal. I'm not so sure about the "Bio Dad".
He( Bio Dad), says to HRG, " it's good to meet you again." Thus we know they have met in the past.l
The supposed "Bio Mom" showes a great deal of facial emotion, and seems uneasy meeting Claire, (as it would happen in real life )
. She tells Claire that she has diabetes. Diabetics have much trouble with healing from an injury.
Claire can heal herself in minutes.
Bio Mom tells Claire, " I didn't want to keep the baby (you)", and that the supposed "Bio Dad" wanted to keep you.
"Bio Mom" tells Mr. Bennet (HRG), "I had a lot of questions too ,when I was her age."
So, if your speculation is that both "bio Parents" are fake, I think you are wrong.

This could very well be true. You have persuaded me. I have not yet analyzed the entirety of episode 6 but this makes a lot of sense than just the shallow "HEY THEY ARE FAKE AND SUCK AT ACTING"

If you rewatch episode 6, you'l begin to see the light about what I'm saying.
Iit may be the real "bio Dad", also.
The real suprise just may be who brought that unopened gift box. The Bio Dad was holding it before the door opened..I think, you have to look quickly through the glass window on the door. The box IS there. It is hard to see who is holding it.

i prefer the theory that the dead family in "One Giant Leap" are the biological parents. makes more sense than to have an actor father and the real mother at least.

i think you are looking into the 'emotion' too much...i mean if her mom came and showed no emotion at all, then i'd be more suspicious. hence she's an actor.

plus why the hell would her mom agree to have an actor come along and fake being the husband?

also her mom has diabetes and this equates to claire having healing powers..no...that's just flawed logic right there.

Also, notice how quick he 'found' her parents? How about the mom talking about how they couldn't find them when she was younger? You'd think if they did find them, he'd know where they are. Which would not explain why HRG told her it could take "years" If they didn't find them originally it would be difficult to find her biological parents.

Your theory also relies a little too heavily on stuff they said...if they are in w/ HRG then they aren't gonna go...hey we're not your parents we're just actors.

here's my theory-start a new theory b/c this one is roasted.

Um... but the family in one giant leap is on the same timeline as we are on. Remember Matt was taken by Mr. Bennet and his mute black friend.

Claire is not the little girl.

And why is it because YOU disagree this theory is "roasted"?

I'm not getting your whole timeline thing...I'm assuming you think Parkman is on an opposite timeline? Nathan was taken by HRG and MBG, are they on a different timeline? Haven't really seen too much that suggests that it couldn't be them. Also, I really don't care if you believe what I believe...hence why the whole thing is just destroying this guy/girl's theory.

No, it's not because I disagree it's just the evidence used has too many holes in it. If he came up w/ a legitmate theory I might believe it.

YOU YOU YOU YOU YOU suck

Still haven't convinced me. The bio-parents are both fake. HRG cooked up the scheme to satisfy Claire's questions. He didn't want her nosing around and possibly find out the truth about her real parents.

I believe HRG knows what's going to happen in NYC. He knows that Claire's fate is mixed up w/ it. He needs to be able to control Claire..and that might not be possible if she knew the truth.

No, if Claire was the same child Matt Parkman rescued they'd have to be operating in the past not the present. So therefore if they are in present time, Clair and little girl can't be the same girl.

And I don't suck, I blow.

I never defended the theory, I just feel that unless you are a writer on the series you have no right to tell anyone their theory is wrong. Because you don't know. You can argue and agree to disagree.

I'm saying that the girl is Claire's sister, not that. Hence everyone is still on the same timeline right?
