My wife was watching the premiere of the show last night since I've been talking about the series so much, and when I was re-watching it with her I saw something that I had completely forgotten about.

In the scene where Claire is walking and sees the emergency vehicle go by leading to the big fire scene, another truck goes by that is white and had a large square back like a small u-haul, or troop carrier. It also has a white tarp to cover the back, but as it drives by the tarp isn't closed all the way and Claire gasps a little as she sees a few guys dressed in black riding in the back.

I didn't get a good look at them and am going from memory, but it seemed like they were wearing black ski masks, something like some sort of a raid team that was en-route to a target.

I remember seeing it the first time through, but just figured that it would come back up later. When it didn't, I forgot all about it until I saw it again last night.

Anyone remember the scene I'm talking about? Any ideas what the deal was with them?

I'm sure it's tied to the now defunct terrorism subplot (and arab water boiling guy) discussed in this Thread, post number 35.

See this thread. I wrote down what happened regarding Matt and the Engineer during the SDCC showing back in August when I first joined this board.

I posted a question and observation on another post about this topic myself:
http://www.9thwonders.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=10302

The topic was about the train being used by the NRC(Nuclear Regulatory Commission). Suppoedly the news report that Claire was watching said something to that effect. I haven't been able to find that anywhere in the shows, maybe it's in a trailer somewhere.

But, I did zoom in on the stenciled writing on the object in the truck and it looks like the first three letters were "NRC". If anybody can get a descent screen cap of the object in the truck, I would love to see what it says.

My idea of that shot was that the train "accident" was a murder attempt. And the victim that Claire saved was the target.

In the later episode where the sherriff is asking which cheerleader it was, he said that the victim wanted to thank the girl who saved him. And then Claire asked the sheriff if the victim was alright. I think we're going to meet the victim at some point.

And I just have a feeling that Linderman was the one trying to kill him, and Claire's going to be in trouble for saving him.
