He's a Forge archetype. I don't like th term technopath because it came out of that dumb Sky High movie. But yes. Ability to work over technology.

I kinda knew that he had that power from the first episode. Though, there was a time I thought maybe he was a psych cause he knew alot on what was going on (i.e. His mom on the internet, what she was going to do with Nathan).

There was a character in Xmen by the same name I believe.

Yeah, it was implied in the first episode that he was good with electronics, IIRC. Just putting two and two together not hard to see that this would be his power. But still, it was very well done tonight, and I think they brought it out in a cool way. Great episode.

I never thought that he actually would already know of his power and how to use it so that was really awesome but they creaters just have to torture us by showing us his power at the end of the show. lol

Which brings me to this question...Only certain ppl have been given special abilities. How was this done?

And why did it strike three times in the same family? ...Niki/Jessica, DL walking thru walls and now Micah w/ power over technology.

Then we have the flying brothers. There has to be a commonality among these groups of ppl.

Loved it! I figured he had powers but never really knew what. Now I wonder the extent of his powers. Some of the questions running through my mind are: Does it only work on machines? Maybe he can heal living things?

Because I love watching 25 minutes of commercials?




Well it makes sense based on the whole evolution theme that traits would carry between family members. Just like two blue eyed people will have a blue eyed kid. Two Heros will have a hero.

For Nikki and DL, coincidence that they met most likely. Or a government breeding project, a la Bene Gesserit from Dune. Micah is their son, so he would inherit some kind of power from the genetics posited by Mohinder/Father.

Flying brothers--it runs in the family. Genetics again. I think that their father is going to play a role. He might even be Sylar--that was a theory posted a while ago.

Yes it definatly is genetic, but what the power is seems to have nothing to do with it. Nathan can take on other's powers while his brother can fly, and Micah's is way different from DL and Nikki's. We'll find out more about origins of the powers and how they were aquired in the episode "6 Months Ago", guess we'll have to wait till then to find out.

Your forgetting Chandra Suresh's migration patterns. It increases the likelyhood that multiple supers would meet and have offspring. And being a genetic trait (ala checking claires chromosomes), would be passed down.

The super chromosome is obviously just a catalyst that activates an ability. Not the ability itself. As seen in Micah, Peter, and Nathan.

Maybe he can only fix phones. That's it.

I think the big difference between Forge and Micha is that the machines basicly talked to Forge and told him what to do with them, while Micha can simply lay his hands on a machince and fix them. I am not going to try to define what the power is but so far it is very very similar to Forge.

Did anyone notice that when DL caught Micha on the phone that the phone seemed to not be working anymore? It sort of like he can fix and break machines at will. The reason I say that is because Jessica didnt seem to hear what DL had said before DL hung up the phone.. almost like it went dead in the middle of their conversation. Just a thought though.

i noticed nobody mentioned this. the phone only worked for him it went back out of service when dl took it from him.if he fixed it the phone would have still worked.maybe it was more telepathy through the machine than anything.

I thought it was an ability to make free long distance calls .. sort of "kid-meets-Vonage" sort of deal.

Knowing what his mom was doing on the internet would go hand in hand given his ability to have control over technology...it'd be like big brother looking at what your surfing on at work...if that's his power, then of course he's gonna know every move his mom makes on the internet.

No, DL put the phone to his ear and it had the same dead sound it had when Micah first picked it up. Also, Jessica all the sudden heard static.

Very cool episode. Does anyone else feel like they have too many commercial breaks? I know how TV works and the need for advertisers, but this is getting rediculous.

There was a couple of characters YEARS ago in Marvel who seemed to have powers similar to Micahs. I think they referred to it as Mechakenisis.

It's different than Forge's, which I have always heard called kit bashing. Forge can physically build whatever he wants.

Micah (and the afformentioned characters) can mentally manipulate machines.

Yea, I thought the same thing. I hate it when the good shows starts to water down how much they give us each week. It's one thing to leave you wanting more...it's another to not give you enough period.

Remember he built himself a new motherboard in the first one? It's 100% impossible for a 10 year old kid, who's mom is struggling financially, to have access to the kind of equipment and materials necessary to build a motherboard.

Maybe Micah can "grow" circuitry. That's what I think.

I think it's pretty cool that now we have another one of those really obscure powers ... like in the case of Nathan and DL for example, their powers are pretty much straight foreward. Then you have those like Peter and now Micah who have ones that seem limitless ... keeps the plot going, I guess ;-)

On the similarities with Forge? I always thought his powers were freaking cool, but being so logical about things, I never saw how he could just "build a machine to fit any purpose" or, like someone said before that they "just spoke to him and told him what to do" with them. Micah's may have a more explainable explaination ... obviously, it's telekenetically-based and we also know it works on machines. My theory (thus-far) is that his mind subconciously detects a latent energy signature from when the machine was in a "working" state, and then temporarily (?) is able to re-create that unique energy signature to be channeled through the machine thus making it "work" for as long as he needs it to... I REALLY want to see if he can ACTUALLY fix things! That would be soooo sweet. Remember that he's also mentioned building components for his computer, so him instinctually "knowing" the energy sig would allow him to just work until he was able to make the machine creat the right one ... god I love babbling ... sorry you all have to see all of it, lol ...

Thinking about it, it may be Micah who has more potential of using his power than any of the Heroes so far. Peter, Nathan, Niki, Claire, etc...they are all "first generation" Heroes. These guys are the ones that are first discovering their powers at a very late stage in life. Micah on the other hand...is second gen. He's the offspring of 2 individuals with superpowers. Therefore, is it possible that he has a lot more potential?!?

Remember how it was all static when Niki tried to watch that part in the car? But yet, the video of her and Nathan worked just fine. And Micah obviously knows about Jessica/Niki, given the, "Can you just put my mom on the phone" line last night.

I know. I was so excited when I saw Micah at that phone. I was thinking "Yeah, here we go, we actually get to see his powers now." We've all been guessing, but to finally see it work, cool.

I don't think he can "grow circuitry" or it would still have worked while DL was on the phone. I wonder if somehow the things he fixes only work when he is touching them. So, when he let go of the phone, it no longer worked, and Jessica heard nothing of DL, etc.

Micah's powers reminded me of a Clive Barker comic called Hyperkind (wiki at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperkind).

Micah is now going to be developed as a major character now. Which is exciting because only "Niki/Jessica" gets old quick in that storyline. I know some of you are all hyped over her, but she is the kinda of character that kinda makes you want to go make a sandwich when she gets on screen. Dl and micah are kewl charcters though, I like how Micah tripped out on Hiro's comic. Hiro's is picking up English pretty quick in my opinion. Im glad I just download the torrets and don't ever have to sit through one commercial! Usually I just download it and bring the ep on my external drive to work. So basically I get paid to watch Heroes on Tuesdays!

Oh man the whole saving mom thing that he was talking about earilier in the ep makes so much sense when you put it into that context...Micha just might end up my favorite character...lol no offense to hiro or anything...

I really liked the reveal of his power! I like that he will be a third, like Hiro and Peter, who see this as a pretty cool thing and who want to be Heroes!
I also loved the sound effects for his powers! It can be pretty overlooked, but when you have a power that isn't flight or super strength; something with no big visual; the sound does a lot! You can kind of hear ciruits and almost gears.

Anakin Skywalker Jr., the third son of Hans and Leia, has this same power.

I completely agree. I know this isn't an action superhero show, but this Nikki/DL thing is getting a little drawn out. Now that I think about it, I think i'm just tired of Nikki whining about Jessica. Nikki just doesn't appeal to me as a strong character.

Maybe they wrote Nikki as a weak, whiney person to show the contrast between her and Jessica. Interesting how Micah knew he wasn't talking to his mom.

Personally, I also loved the reveal of Micah's powers. While I'm not as bored as some others with the Nikki/Jessica & DL & Micah story, I do hope they resolve it soon and move on. I rather like Nikki and though I like DL's power, characterwise I don't feel like I have a handle on who he is yet.

But back to the actual topic: I thought Micah's powers were pretty cool.

As to Micah as a character, it's ironic to me that he has info that could totally resolve the conflict between his parents if only they would talk to him openly about it instead of trying to protect him from what he apparently already knows.
