so, does anyone know what those two marks on matt's and ted's neck were?
when they were booking ted and taking his mug shot, he turned and we saw 2 marks on his neck. then in the police lockeroom, when matt was getting dressed we saw the same 2 marks on his neck.

they just looked like scratches, but i cant help thinking that maybe it has something to do with niki's tattoo.

I did notice them, and was wondering if that was somehow a manifestation of when their powers are in use.. Niki had marks showing when she is Jess but not in Niki mode, per se.
however, no one else has come close to taking their clothes off or showing shoulder,.. so hard to determine. but maybe they are an indication of temprament depending on which way the open part of the mark is turned

These marks are from the african guy with HRG clearing them out. The marks are a result of HRG's experimentation. Nathan most likely has them too.

True, but were we sure about how much they did to him? You may be right though...

It may just be a tracking mark to keep track of all the heroes they have come across to keep tabs...

The question is...if Ted had met HRG (based on the tattoo, looks like he had) how come HRG didn't clean him out? I thought HRG was supposed to clean out the "bad" and leave in the "good" in people's brain, such as "Matt now is with his wife" and "Brodie become soft".

There's no evidence that that is what he is doing with "heroes". Brody was a special case and not part of HRG's "job" (he has no powers and was "hollowed out" to protect/avenge his daughter and others that would have followed without doubt).

All I think we can be sure of is that HRG uses the Haitian to erase all memories of them being captured and examined (and possibly plant some kind of tracker chip thing) and to protect their identities. Each time there has been some comment about it not being a problem that the "victims" see their captors - because the memory will be erased.
