I think Micah was just reacting and was about to run to his dad to pull him back...maybe.

I did like that Hiro stepped up and took Micah by the shoulder though. That, I think shows that Hiro is finally working toward the "future Hiro" mode. He doesn't mind who sees what he does.

I just rewatched this epi tonight and noticed something I didn't see the first time. This may not matter a lot in the whole scheme of things, but I found it interesting.

When D.L. is already at the car trying to get the woman out, Micah starts to step forward but Hiro (iirc) stops him and says he'll help.

Micah seems to be smart enough not to get close to a burning car that might blow up at any second, even if his dad's next to the car. So...

Do you think it's possible he was about to use his abilities to help?

I agree with Firecurtis about it most likely just being a reaction to help his dad..

I'm pretty sure that although Micah could have possibly fixed the car, but only if it hadn't already been on fire.

i think he know his mom needs help, and knows it's obvious his dad can take care of himself.

His reaction proves to me that he does love his dad, but because he calls his mother later on, it proves that he would rather be her.

I agree with everybody he could have fixed the car if it wasn't on fire. I also think that Micah's powers allow him to know when he's around other people with powers.

Micah seems in tune with other heroes powers, he is aware of his parents powers and knew his father was in no danger. I have noticed the matter of fact way some heroes react when they see another fero use their power for the first time.

I really don't think Micah could have fixed the car..it seems his abilities extend to all things electrical and not auto mechanics. When he closes his eyes its like he's getting a picture of what is wrong and automatically knows how to fix it. A car is waaay beyond his scope. As for his affection for his parents...He loves them both, but his concern was with Niki because he saw her on the floor before DL dragged him away. Lying to DL about the phone was no biggie--he just didn't want to start a battle at that time. Kids with divorced parents go through the same thing ALL the time. It's a constant battle of "who do you love the most?" "Who do want to live with?" Although DL and Niki are NOT divorced, DL has put Micah in the same situation. And sometimes there just ARE no choices.

do you just mean the door? as that's all that would matter. getting the engine to run would not have helped.

I agree that Micah's stepping forward was probably just a reaction to his father being in danger. I seriously doubt that Micah's power, if indeed what it's speculated as being, would have been of much use in that instance except for the door locks.

As for Micah sensing others with powers, I haven't really seen enough evidence to support that theory just yet. So far, it just looks like he's a lot more observant than most folks so he picks up on differences. Remember his surprise when DL told him how he just walked out of jail. It's not like he already knew his Dad had powers. Still, time will tell.

do we know that micah new off niki's power. i'm sure he said something like "mum's got a secret too." everyone seems to assume that he knows about her power. it could just be that she's selling her arse on the internet.

When he phoned her Jessica was in control and Micah said "Put mum on the phone".

The graphic novel a couple of weeks ago showed that Nikki (Jessica) was in on the job for the 2 million dollars but it was for tuition for the school for Micah. The other guys tried to screw her out of the money so she killed them. I think Micah has talked with Jessica before and he wants to get them all together - Mom, Jessica and DL. He can then get them to talk about what happened.

Actually, we don't. All we see is that Micah seems to know of Jessica on some level, which could be what he's talking about when he mentions that "mom has a secret too". Or, like you said, it could be about her stripping on the net.

I don't think he can pick up on others powers, the move forward was out of concern for his dad. Calling his mom was to make sure she was ok and telling Jessica where they were, he still has it in his head that they can all be a happy family and that maybe they can help Niki over come Jessica.

i'm not sure if this was in the micah's power thread... but i'm not sure if he is a "technomage". we know he's good at fixing old computers and he somehow made a broken phone work... or did he. if you look at the progression of the show and the "natural" element to it he cannot be a technomage. he may have some kind of telepathy which allowed him to project his voice to the phone.

There was a dialing tone when DL took the phone off Micah. I think it's pretty clear that he "fixed" it somehow.

i'll have to rewatch it. i thought it was dead.
