Full Version: Is this Peter's power?

Ice_Swordsman
Based on what he did in this episode, when he was able to make his eyes become clouded, or roll back into his head, or whatever they did, and then finish painting the future... as soon as I saw that, I instantly knew, or at least thought I knew (and I still think this) that Peter's power is the ability to "tap in" to the powers of those around him. I mean, how else was he able to levitate when he was talking to his brother in episode 2? And, upon thinking about how Peter was able to still move while time stopped in episode... uh... 4 and 5, was it? Whatever... not important... I strongly believe that that is Peter's power. He also mentioned before he finished the painting that he drew the future at his house, even though it was only stick figures... which even adds on more to my belief...

I was wondering if anone else thought likewise...

I think it would be very rare/unusual/surprising for anyone who has watched the show to think otherwise.

Search the boards a bit, it is taken as a given that Peter is a "mimic" of one sort or another. The only real speculation is if that is his only power and how long he retains the powers / how close must he be to "borrow" them.
Abraxas
People thought that after episode 1. They might have read spoilers, I can't tell. I guess some people just figured it out back then. After episode 2 I was already convinced, myself.
In episode 5 he basically tells us himself when he says, "I think I can only do stuff when I'm around others who can...do stuff."
That's a very good line by the way. laugh.gif

It seems to me Peter needs to be within a physical proximity of other supers in order to copy their powers but I don't think he needs to touch them. Perhaps there is like a sort of bio-electric aura or some other super hero fantasy aura deal that is constantly projected around him. When he is around other Heroes, or super villains such as Sylar, his aura automatically absorbs some of the energy from others and sends it directly into Peter's body thus charging him up like a battery. He then seems to retain these copied abilities for at least a full day or less. That is just my theory on the whole issue gathered from my observations of the character.

Well, how did everyone figure out his power in episode one? To me, it seemed that Peter got a weaker knock-off vesion of Nathan's power... until this episode, that is...
Sasuke
Well, in the beginning something was odd about how he could only fly when Nathan was present, and there was emphasis place there, so it wasn't too hard to piece together. I kind like the power he has of being a mimic...that means he could be another time master like Hiro when they eventually meet and join forces heh. What I really want to know is what would happen if he was around Niki, as would he develp a alternate ego as well or what...?

I think Peter's power is indeed to "tap in" to the powers of those around him, and then to "record" them in his mind so that he could use them later without heroes around him ; he may be the future human-being, who would have the powers of all heroes...
