So I have a Theory about the neck scars. We find out both Ted and Mat have them in this episode. We also find out that Mr. Bennett knows about Sylar.
I think that one of the reasons Mr Bennett is grabbing the supers is to give them some kind of microchip that would keep Sylar from Sensing the other people with powers.
The only argument I can think of is that Sylar went after the waitress and not Hiro.
Maybe He cant Sense others with powers but has a list based on the Map shown in his appt.

It makes you think he has some sort of specific list or something. He could have taken Hiro and the waitress out right there but didn't. He could very well sense Hiro can stop time and knows it could be dangerous for him though too. He also could be setting up Hiro so he wouldn't be able to make it to the cheerleader. Have to see.

I think that the marking are a form of id or tracking. Becuase that is what they have been doing. But they also have been helping the HEros with their powers--ALA Ted and Matt who both experienced a power jump from their HRG experience.

Hmm... Most scars arn't black... Atleast the ones I've got arnt and never have been. They are more like tattoo markings.

And its SYLAR, not Sylar.

There's absolutely nothing in the show that supports this theory of yours. Sylar has shown nothing to indicate he can sense powers of any type. There's zero reason to believe that HRG is expending all these resources to save supers from one guy with powers. Especially after he said that his organization had been tracking these folks for a long time.

About the only part of your post I can agree with is Sylar using the map that was found in his apartment.

I always assumed they were tattoos. More specifically, the 2 hashmarks on the "S symbol." They starting to be branded for some reason...

Actually, last week's episode shows both with the scars/tattoos which both look like the beginnings of the DNA Tattoo that Niki/Jessica has.

I am guessing they are some kind of tag/tracking thing for whatever HRG's organizaton. Niki was probably an early version and the two little ones on Ted and Matt are the newer model.

Did anyone else see that Ted's was on the Left side of his neck and Matt's was on the Right? I am really wondering if this has some significance. Good/Evil thing. That or I'm just one of those people over thinking everything

He's been down a rough road and just needs a helping hand to get his mind right. I can't blame him for being a little upset and unstable right now, especially since he loved his wife so much, and he's the one who killed her !

the evolutionary process for the heroes is long winded and takes time... maybe the Haitian can accelerate the process, but it causes the heroes to lose control of their powers eventually causing something terrible to happen. hrg says to eden that she is the easy way and that she knows what happens with the hard way.

sylar could be killing those who have been "accelerated", he takes the brains so that hrg cannot use whatever the accelerating has done to the brain.

Ok, to the whole tagging thing. Just no. The markings are the development of the Tattoo's marks. But lets say they are microchips in people's shoulder. Matt goes home and has a fun night wiht hsi wife. turns his back to her. "Gee honey, when were you gonna tell me about that tattoo?"

"What tattoo is that?"

.. Um no. and unless I'm badly mistaken, you see Matt's back after him and his wife have sex, and there is no markings then. It's only after he carries out a whoel conversation while in someone else's head that they appear there.

This is in HRG's area because everyone thinks he is the one putting micro ships in people.

Maybe its because they were facing each other like a mirror image. It looks like the other side but it really isen't. Ok i was kidding with this post.

The marks being on different sides because of where the whatever was implanted, if we go with that idea.

It could have just been a whim by whoever did it, or different people injected them, maybe one was right handed, one was left, and just easier to inject on certain sides, or whatever.

I *really* dislike the "this is bad" and "this is good" idea.

I really don't want people kidnapping others and making moral judgements and marking them to show they're good or evil. "You're evil because you've got that mark on the left and not the right!" seems...bad.

Ok I rewatched the part last night were Ted and Matt show each other their marks. Ted says "I'll do you one better" and shows Matt the marks. Matt looks over at FBI chick and she says "What's a matter Parkman?" As Matt shows Ted his marks. FBI chick never really acknowledges she sees them.

So what I am wondering is, MAYBE the marks can only be seen my those WITH powers. Think about it, the wife didn't see them, FBI chick did acknowledge seeing them, so that leaves me with the impression they can't see them.

Just a thought anyway.
