That was a very interesting read btw. Many thanks. I didn't even imagine it was real or I would have searched for it myself.

Need to do some reading on Mesmerism now...

something to think about...

Although I don't think this has anything at all to do with Heroes, when I first saw the episode and that folder I was reminded of a silent movie we watched in my World Cinema class this past year call The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. It's not a very long film, and can be downloaded from the net in some places, so if anyone has an interest in silent films it's worth the time. You'll probably notice that the movie influenced at least one popular American director wink.gif

ahhh.

i was wondering where the mesmer name in common fantasy ame from.

I forget which game I played, but a mesmer wouldn't do anything but chain-cast sleep.

Anyways, Mesmerism, connecting theories here, is basically deep hypnotic state. But, hypnosis, as far as I can recall, still can't get people to behave in the aforementioned document. Its like... a cheap immitation of sleep walking.

It was a precursor to hypotism as we know it and involved magnetism.

Guildwars (this one has a class called a mesmer or something)

according to the article...somnambulist's can do extraordinary things while in a dream state...somewhat clairvoyant even...as well as ability to speak languages that in thier waking state they cant recall. I'll have to reread the article...alonmg with a few articles on mesmerism.

Animal magnetism
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Animal magnetism (also known as mesmerism) is the 18th century term for the ethereal medium postulated by Franz Mesmer as a therapeutic agent.

(Ayers Rock is also known as Uluru)
Ayers Rock is a large magnetic mound large not unlike Silbury Hill in England. It is located on a major planetary grid point much like the Great Pyramid in Egypt.

This could be far fetched... but is there some connection here?

Also what about Uluru being located on the Planetary Grid Point, could this lead into the whole evolution connection?
