Yep, thats Sylar a.k.a. Zachary Quinto.

yeah thats sylar because if you compare these two pics, it has to be the same guy. And some people think Sylar has to be in 40's because of the Paul E Sylar thing. but I think its safe to say Sylar isnt his real name. Now where would he get a name like that gee by looking at the pic of Zach and Chandra toegether...gee I wonder where he got it from?

Two possibilities (among many)

1) Paul E Sylar's birthday might change the same way that Chandra Suresh's face changed on his book jacket after a different actor was cast for the part.

2) One of Sylar's special powers makes him look younger/age slower.

If you look close, you can see a glass levitating above the table. It is kind of hard to notice, as it blends in with the background due to the picture quality.

Oops. My mistake. I knew a glass went flying in that scene, so I just assumed that the background image was the glass in that still shot, but by the time of that shot, the glass is already off screen.

That is super cool. I never expected Sylar to look so average looking. He looks an average person, which makes him all the more scarier.

Now, we hear Sylars voice too, he sounds quite young. It seemed like the voice we heard on Chandra's answering macine in Ep 1 was deeper, no?

Sure, Zachary Quinto has been listed as playing "Sylar" in IMDB website etc, but was never actually credited by the full name "Paul E. Sylar", who's supposed to be born on June 11, 1962 (according to a birth announcement stuck on Chandra's map), and hence years older than this young looking chap...

Perhaps this younger Sylar is out to avenge his father (or bro) Paul?

If those pictures of Paul E. Sylar are canon, it must be. No way Zachary Quinto can be passed off as 44, if you ask me. But early twenties already seems too young...
I'm leaning towards thinking that those pictures are not relevant to the show.

What if that was the reason why Zach was hesitant about dating Claire. That would make his lines to her make so much more sense. For more reasons than you know it was? A reason to make her queen of homecoming to set her up for his father? Yeah maybe not but look at Eden.

Read the thread plz. Zachary Quinto is the actor who plays Sylar. No one said anything about Zach, Claire's ambiguously-oriented friend. If he were Sylar's brother, my brain would explode and I'd posibly have to stop watching the show.

No we don't know if Sylar is his real name but I don't think there's some father son revenge thing. I also don't think he has any other power but telekenesis.

If you were a sociopath that discovered you had some kind of superpower, what do you think you'd do? Most people with antisocial personality disorder in my opinion really want to kill people but many don't. This one realized he can.

I think we're talking about a guy that was very screwed up and Chandra Suresh had no idea. I believe Sylar thinks he's doing God's work. He probably had some kind of screwed up childhood. Perhaps he was raised by an extremely religious family. I think he hates himself for being a freak and he might very well think others that are special are servants of the devil. His goal was probably to kill them all then kill himself.

You guys are going way over the edge with these theories. This isn't a comic book show. It's more scifi in the realm of the X-Files. The writers of this show know comic book cliche wouldn't have made it to 10 episodes before getting cancelled.
