One thing that I love about this show is the over-the-top gore! They pull no punches. It's awesome.

did hollywood have a sale on fake blood? Jackie's head must of had 12 liters of blood in it alone! then you have Claire's blood and I'm sure Peter did have much left after his fall, since he was swimming in a pool of his own blood, mixed with a "healthy" amount from Sylar. we may even see more in two weeks when we get back to DL story!

It would have looked strange if there wasn't as much blood as their was for those particular injuries so I think they did a good job with the amount but then again I have no clue how much blood you would get with something like Jackie's inquiry which was really nasty.

Well I have had a head injury once. Someone's teeth bit into my head (it's a long, agrivatting story) and i started bleeding like crazy. I guess you bleed alot from you head so when all her blood sprayed everywhere it didn't suprise me.
It scared the sh** outta me.

You bleed a lot from your head because there's a lot of blood vessels in it. Even a small hole can make your head into a blood fountain.
That happened to me a few years ago, I hit my head really hard on a bookcase and I started bleeding like crazy.

i think it adds to the comic-book-iness of the show while still remaining realistic.

I didn't think Claire was as busted up as she was when she hit the wall. Damn, she was a mess! Atleast the blood had a good color.

I thought it was great. To me it was the right balance of realistic and over the top gore to make it credible but still have a little shock value. Bravo!

Yeah, there wasn?t blood splashed all over the camera lens but there sure was enough of it to go around!
Did anyone notice that both Clarie and Peter had very similar facial injuries?

Poor Jackie, I figure her time was almost up anyway, probably would have died of a massive stroke, because the way her blood shot across the room and sprayed the banner, her blood pressure must have been fantastically high. It was a llittle too Monty Pythonish.

A lot of people have pointed this out, but head injuries generally bleed a lot, trust me, I have experiannce in that.

There are a lot of blood vessels and capilaries in the head. It'll bleed a lot. That huge pool of blood under Peter's head was pretty accurate.
There's some old film footage of a soldier in Vietnam shooting a VC in the head execution style and the blood pours out of his head.
My cousin is a cop and he and other cops were in a shootout with this psycho. They had it on the news before I even knew my cousin was there. They showed a huge pool of blood on the ground and I just knew it was a headshot. I talked to my cousin a couple weeks later and he told me that's what happened.
Besides scenes like we saw were good for suspence and horror because all that blood adds to realizm. How many times do we see in Hollywood when you shoot somebody in the head you see a little red spot where the bullet went in and that's it.. No exit wound, no blood..

QUOTE (Kathy @ Nov 23 2006, 12:44 PM)

Oh, the amount of blood, I have no problem with, just the spraying. I have been a neuro nurse for almost 10 years, and have assisted with drilling burr holes in patient's heads, and I have never seen anyone's blood come spraying out like a shook up can of pop. Silly isn't it, I have no problem believing Sylar used his finger to slice her head open, just the part about the blood spraying

maybe Sylar used his TK to spray the blood onto the banner
