When I saw the painting that showed Peter dead/dying in front of the gym under the clock and banner, I noted the time on the clock (like I'm sure everyone else did). But the time (8:10) struck me as familiar.
I went back and took a look at Back to the Future III. Marty and Doc take a picture by the clock before it's installed in the newly built city hall and clock tower. The time in THAT picture is 8:10.
Coincidence?

Dumb Observation?

I'm betting it's just a funny coincidence, but good catch none the less!

Too bad Peter didn't yell "Great Scott" as he fell off the roof with Sylar.

Probably a tribute from the writers. =) Wouldn't it be great if they got Christopher Lloyd to play Sylar?

So in the preview of Nathan driving his car into the barrier, do you think he was trying to hit 88mph to go back in time and eliminate his running mate or maybe just relive the experience with Jessica?

Hahaha, funny theory. Most likely it's a flashback scene (since the episode is about "6 months ago") to how his wife got injured and needs a wheelchair.

I'm going to chose to believe that Heroes is really a remake of the BttF ideas!

Yep. Early Lloyd was high on the "creepy". Check him out in Taxi or Buckaroo Banzai (although Lithgow was way creepier).

The time is 8:11 or 8:12 pm, though.
But close enough. The whole thing with that clock looked prett BttF, I agree. But I don't think it means they will repeat this part over and over again. Please tell me they won't...

You know the writers put all kinds of easter eggs in their shows. Chris Carter did it on the X Files. I will bet your catch was one of those easter eggs.

Hidden for you to find.
Good catch.I believe that the writers could be paying tribute to some of the shows and movies that inspired them. After all there are so many refferences to comics ,Star Trek ,horror films(Sylar) ,etc.
