If so, then why would he adopt Claire? Because he can't get enough of heroes in his house, or because he really learned something and needs another body to test? Or for any other reason?

No. She says "it was a mistake to do that to him", not "it was a mistake to do that, Dad".
I posted a topic under 1.8, or 1.7, I forget, that alluded to the fact that maybe Eden and Claire were sisters. Since then, I haven't revisted the theory, but it is still plausible.

Really sounded like Dad to me. Guess I've misheard. No wonder no one had bought it up yet.
Plus, look at the current graphic novel on nbc.com. Eden's dad ran out on her when she was young.

I also thought she said 'dad', but I felt she was saying it in a joking manner... because it was the dad in him wanting Issac to paint. Kwim?
