Mr. Linderman bought the painting of Peter dead in front of the high school to begin with? I don't know about all of you guys but I can't see that particular painting being one you would want to frame and put up in the middle of your living room for everyone to see. Do you think Mr. Linderman knows more about the heroes then anyone knows?

People are freaks when it comes to art. Well, they're freaks in general, but that's beside the point. You'd be surprised at how well sadistic and freaky crap sells to the rich. I wouldn't be shocked if the writers don't follow that up or explain it in any way.
Either way, with no Linderman yet, there's no way to know what his motives are.

I don't know if I would hang it in my living room. But it was a rather powerful looking piece. I wouldn't mind owning it myself.

For the right price, I could paint the same thing for you -- not that difficult a style to copy, really.
Kidding, I'm not even remotely interested in a career in art forgery.

I think Linderman will play a signifigant role. Him buying Isaac's painting was a big red flag for me. I think that I know who he'll be portrayed by.

After her night with Nathan ,Niki was told by the asian woman working for Linderman "I think we have determined what you are".
This could mean several different things.

The contextual moment was when Niki was protesting that she was not a wh*re.

Oh wow you are right: Lindaman may know about her powers, and he may know about the heroes. I think you guys may be on to something. We may be seeing more of Lindaman than just as a mob boss that could cause Nathan some problems.

Think about it, its the only character who we really dont know much about. Sometimes those are the ones that surprise you. Just cause of the fact that he is so undercover.

There are several comics with the mob boss as a super villian.

Yeah there's that one villan in Batman who's a mob boss, he's old and fat. I don't remember his name or much of anything about him for that matter. lol. This probably just made people even more confused.

Linderman knew the Petrelli's father, and knows Nathan
i think we can safely presume he knows Peter as well
so if he recognized Peter in a painting by an up-and-coming artist, it's not a stretch that he bought it just for that reason
(yes, i'm struggling to avoid the increasingly likely Linderman=HRG* connection)
but then why would he ship it to Nathan?
so perhaps he never saw the painting at all, and just placed an order with Simone for "the first available painting from the new Mendez series"

especially if he is aware that he is a heroin addict... as most art increases in value when the artist dies.
