Please, I'm getting sick of watching him episode after episode acting like a kid! And the more he's on screen, the more childish he acts. He acted like a 13 yr old kid in the past...now, he's more like 10! Geesh..

I agree with you. He is getting annoying. But this is a character arc. I think he spent the past six months growing up. I think he will be more serious now. But we don't want to lose too much of that personality. He's a great character.

I couldn't agree more with the original poster. Hiro has grown consistently annoying as the episodes continue. I'm hoping Charlie's death will be the downer he needs to get him to be more grounded. He was great the first 3 episodes but that wide eyed 13 year old mentality he has going on is just getting annoying. I just hope he grows up and doesn't pout like a 13 year old child for the next few episodes but something tells me he's going to be a whiney little bleep for a little while, no Charlie + no powers = big crybaby.

Hiro's an otaku. A nerdy anime fan. Combine that with his Japanese heritage and OF COURSE he acts like that. I know AMERICAN otaku who act like that and they only know a little Japanese. Most of them are emulating the over-the-top antics of anime characters, and yes it can get a little annoying sometimes, but I think in Hiro it is endearing. It shows that he is one of the outcasts, on the fringe, even before he was a "hero."

It's cool some people love Hiro. I love Peter. And that's cool too. I'm just stating my opinions here. If you don't like Peter, that's cool as well, cause each person has his/her own reason why they like/dislike that person.
But it's not cool for some of you sending me IM and attack me because I don't like Hiro?

Sorry you feel that way. I guess you were never a comic book fan, or an adolescent boy who wished he was special, so he could matter in the world.
Hiro represents all of us who would revel in superpowers and their validation of our fantasies of self-merit.
Japanese culture places great emphasis on the tonality of the voice. The most popular singers all have a very high pitched squeaky little kid voice I find annoying. But culturally, Masi Oka is portraying a very common stereotype of the salaryman gifted with superpowers and enjoying (almost) every minute of it, which can be found in, oh maybe a thousand different very popular forms in manga.
Last but not least, Hiro is a big fan of not only manga, but American comics as well. In Japan, comics and graphic novels outself every other form of media. The conventions of the medium are ingrained into Hiro's personality, and are very effectively portrayed. I think these are the things you mention above which annoy you.
BTW, I loved Hiro's reaction - "Great Scott!"

Get over it, he's a made up character on a tv show, so what if people find him to be obnoxious. Grow up and stop taking it as a personal insult, you are not Hiro so please get over yourself and your own insecurities. If you love him great, then you are free to disagree and state the reasons you love him, we won't attack you for it, so don't attack those of us that are tired of him.
Don't read the thread if it's going to upset you, the thread stated Hiro was annoying so the contents weren't going to be filled with love and sunshine. Amazing that some of you don't even discuss the topic you just look for people to insult who you don't agree with, that is so childish.

Ok so he acts like his 13 for the first couple of show, but lets look at the timeline for these 10 shows,
Day 1 - Discovers power
Night 1 - Parties in the Girls bathroom, teleports to NYC
5 Weeks in the future - NYC blows up teleports to
Day 2 - convinces Ando to go to the US to save NYC
Day 2-4 - Travel Time to LA
Day 3-4 or 4-5 - Viva Las Vegas
Day 5- a couple of days maybe - Gambling,
Day 8 - Travel time to Midland TX
So you want him to change the way he acts in all 10 shows in less then 2 weeks and not the 2 1/2 months that we have watching him. Give him a little chance to grow.
Now that he knows that he could not save Charlie he will start to become the Hiro of the future, hopefully.
