Hello everyone, This is my first post. I havent seen anyone bring this up yet so lets see what you guys think.
When Eden told Mohinder that she was going to kill the man that murdered his father couldnt she have meant HRG instead of Sylar? Perhaps by letting Sylar free she knew that he would try to go after Claire again and when HRG tried to help her Sylar would kill HRG instead. Do we know for sure that it was Sylar who killed Mohinders father?

I believe so, due to seeing his watch during the "dream" sequence.
Schondor
considering she said that right before she talked to sylar, it can be assumed that sylar was the one she was talking about
Enohp
yeah, and in "seven minutes to midnight" the man who killed chandra had the same watch sylar had in the diner, before he killed charlie. it also had the same time on it, so its safe to say she meant sylar.

The visual evidence points to Sylar and not HRG. During the scene in the Burnt Toast Cafe (Midland, TX.) we see Sylar seated in a corner with the broken watch (he moves the cup without touching it). We see the watch being broken by a man wearing similar (or the same) clothes when murdering Chandra Suresh in the taxi. I think its safe ro assume that Eden meant she was going to kill Sylar. On the other hand, TPTB could have pulled a fast one and made it look like Sylar was in the back of the cab when it was someone else dressed like him... (Hmm, after reading that last line it just does not seem right. I'll leave it here for argument's sake but I don't believe it myself.)

But she didn't try to set Sylar free; she tried to make him kill himself. That sort of blows your whole theory, doesn't it?

One thing I wondered about Chandra's murder was the fact that (if Mohinder's dream is accurate), he was murdered using physical force. We know Sylar had his TK powers by this point (he demonstrated them to Chandra while he was alive), and all other killings we know of involved the use of his TK abilities (Audrey says this is how she tracked his victims - all were killed telekinetically, but not all had their heads sliced open).

Why did Sylar choose to Chandra through brute force, rather than TK?

because it was personal

Maybe because Chandra did not have powers and therefor no reason for Sylar to cut his head open.

@Monday: I thought he killed Chandra to get access to the details about the various Heros - Chandra stopped telling him when he realized Sylar was a nutjob. I didn't think it was personal - Sylar's too calculating for that.

@Dakk: Some of his other victims have been non-Heroes, but have still been killed with TK - that's how Audrey tracked them. Other agents disregarded them because their heads hadn't been sliced open, but Audrey thought they were all connected because of similar methods of killing. Also remember Molly's mother. Her father was iced and his head cut open, but her mother was pinned to the wall with kitchen knives in an obviously-TK fashion.

Probably because when he Murdered papa Suresh he wanted it to look like a normal crime so that the FBI wouldn't connect the death to Sylar. If they investigated the apartment were Suresh lived they would have a connection to Sylar and the map that would help them know where his next move would be.

So he just killed him with his hands so it looks like a typical murder, it would draw no attention or serious investigation since it doesn't fit the pattern of the serial killer.

Sylar had some reason for killin Suresh with his own two hands instead of his power. And what caused Sylar to kill him he finally got a power which made Suresh happy. Maybe he found out Sylar killed Brian Davis. What do you guys think? cool.gif

Yes, I think Chandra found out that B. Davis was dead and it upset him. If "Sylar" didn't seem surprised or didn't seem to care about the death it could have gave Chandra the idea that something wasn't right with Sylar. At one point Chandra did tell Sylar not to ever call him again. I think this was when Sylar decided he needed to remove Chandra from the project (life).

Why physical?
1. he wanted the satisfaction of killing with his bare hands like he did with Davis Or
2. he didn't quite know how to use TK to kill people yet when it was Chandra's murder.
