In the previous episode, MP was suspended due to attacking his superior officer. Audrey was ****** at Matt for not telling him that.
So, what happened? Did the suspension suddenly get lifted? He can accompany her again, no matter what?
I'm not quite sure how suspensions work, but I assume he was suspended by the police force and not specifically the FBI or Audrey pulled some strings to get him back on the case after seeing what happened between him and Ted. It's unclear why he's still working, but the force obviously needs him or still wants to use him on the Sylar case.

There's a much better question (not saying this is not a good question, it is

) related to this:
How the hell is it that Audrey got away with killing an innocent man while hunting for Sylar? (graphic novel)
As for Matt I think that he got suspended from the police force and FBI is a different jurisdiction.
I guess punching LAPD detectives is no big deal to the FBI... I figure they probably do it all the time...

As I'm sure you've all seen in some form or another in all the various cop tvshows/movies. Police officers never listen to their authorities. They always stay on the case after beign thrown off, and they always shoot first and ask questions later.
Im glad heroes stuck with the tradition.

Well, you gotta stay true to the genre, otherwise the hard-core fans will eat you alive...

I think Matt's working with Audrey is completely seperate from his LAPD duties.

Doesn't mean she can't punch the occasional cop...
But yes, in this case, I think it's safe to say he's assisting the FBI on a consultational basis, separate from his duties as a police officer.

Yeah, I think she was just more ****** that he didn't tell her, more then the fact he was suspended. I know if I had a mind reading freak partner, I'd wanna know stuff like that.

Yeah, and there's something else to consider: He got suspended without pay. How on Earth could he have even afforded to take a flight from L.A. to Texas...unless Audrey did something and got tickets for the both of them to fly. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Audrey herself faces some kind of suspension from the FBI for going after Ted WITHOUT the backup and continuing the Sylar investigation on her own.

Actually, his suspension from the force should have stopped him from working with Audrey, note when that Ladyy chick who seems to have authority over Audrey (can't remember which agency she works for but i think it was homeland sec) said to Matt "and you, you shouldn't even be hear, you were suspended"
Matt's reply, i think, is the reason he is still working because he told Audrey "don't worry about that, I'll take care of it"
I would say he called in a favour from a superior or told the detective to withdraw the complaint or something. I think one aspect of this show that is so good is that it doesn't feel the need to show every little thing that is happeneing, if Pete says he is flying to texas, next time we see him he is in texas or if Matt is told he is going to be able to do the det. exam again, next timne we see him he is a detective. This show is the total antithesis of 24 and that is one of the reasons i love it.
