Full Version: Didn't Isaac draw himself dead in his comic?

If you look at the scene that Hiro opens the comic book from the future to in the diner with Isaac it shows Isaac lying dead on the floor with the blood all around.

So why was Isaac so surprised when Hiro tells him that he dies and has his head cut off?

We know Isaac has written and drawn that issue already cause he says that one hasn't even gone to the printers yet -- also he had to have drawn it or it wouldn't prove that Hiro went to the future.

Even if he drew them under the influence of drugs you'd think he'd go back and read them when he got sober so that there wouldn't be anything in them that he could get sued or arrested for like libel or pornography or whatever.

I don't think that the head cut off sceen is actualy in the comic. It never shows it and Hiro would kind of be expecting it when he sees him.

While you are probably right. It looked like the last page in the issue...hard to tell though cause there are NO WORDS in Isaac's comic. I can't imagine how the reader is supposed to follow the action.

You would think if Hiro had taken the time to read it though he wouldn't have gone into that apartment cause look at all the blood splattered around the room. Even if he didn't know it was Isaac laying there (or maybe NOT Isaac) he should have been able to tell it wasn't the place he needed to be.

Go get a cop first so you aren't the one accused of the murder buddy.

The last scene in the comic book is when they are leaving for Vegas in the Nissan. The comic book starts at the point when Hiro jumps to NY in the future.

Therefore, the comic must show the events in between, including Hiro finding Issac and jumping back to his time.

it's a logical deduction that the comic should show Hiro finding something ... unless he just sees the explosion in the comic

those 9th Wonder narratives are bugger-all unfocused, huh?

Assume for a moment that Issac painted himself on the floor dead (there are theories saying that this is wrong) but decided to do nothing about it, even after running the comic to the press. Then in Ep. 2, Hiro buys the comic when he arrives in New York. The comic goes from when he stops time in his office back in Ep. 1 until he leaves for Las Vegas. But when he buys it and runs off, he flips through to the point in time he is at, stops reading, and flips to the back to find Issac's personal information. At no point does Hiro actually open to the page where Issac is on the floor dead. So, when Hiro attempted to visit Issac, he had no idea of what to expect. It was only after he returned to Tokyo that he actually read the entire comic and could use it as a basis for his actions. That's why Hiro didn't expect to find Issac dead.

As for why Issac didn't do anything to prevent his death, that's easy. He became accustomed to everything he drew coming true, so he decided that it was futile to try and prevent it. That still holds for the event that it wasn't Issac laying on his apartment floor, but someone else. In fact, that would explain why the police came so quickly. Issac tells the police that someone is going to be murdered in a certain apartment, only Hiro gets there first and is arrested instead of the real murderer.
