Has no one else heard this?

Yes, Heroes is featured in the TIME's People Who Mattered in 2006 section. Unfortunately, it only seems to be included in the TIME US (not the Asia version, though I'm unsure about other international ones). So if anyone's going out to buy the edition, try to look inside first! Meanwhile, online link here -

QUOTE
The Cast of Heroes
Bringing Powers to The Little People

The first thing the title of Heroes tells you is what the show is about. The second thing it tells you is what the show is not about. It's not called Superheroes ? even though its characters can, in no particular order, read minds, time-travel, pass through solid objects, fly and see the future. And the non-super fallibility of these average people discovering their above-average powers gives the show much of its appeal.

Like its TV forebear Lost, the most popular new fall show spins a complex narrative around the connections among a group of strangers with troubled pasts. And in the tradition of Marvel comics like Spider-Man, creator Tim Kring has made his characters real people with real problems ? bad marriages, unpaid bills and family feuds.

Of course, they also have bigger worries (a serial-killing supervillain, a bit of unpleasantness about New York City possibly exploding in the future), and the show unreels its comic-book twists at a satisfying pace. But like Claire (Hayden Panettiere), an angsty cheerleader whose body can miraculously heal itself, Heroes combines vulnerability and invulnerability. And that's super(cool.gif.

Thanks a bunch! I'm sharing this larger scan with the LJ community, if that's ok with you? Couldn't find a copy here (TIME Asia selectively cut a few of the profiles out mad.gif )

Also, the original Access Hollywood link is here -- just in case the YouTube version is removed or isn't too clear for some peeps:

Is it just me or is Santiago Cabrera really hot in that black leather(?) jacket?

He's hot. They're all hot! They're the hottest newcomers in town! tongue.gif

On other fronts, I've a question for you fans. I was just discussing this on LJ and am curious what you all think Masi - and Simone - are doing in this cast shoot. My guess is that Hiro's bending time and space to stop something that Simone's supposedly spilled. But I can't really tell from the small image here. Any ideas?

Yeah it looks like he is stopping it from spilling. I didn't notice it before.

CONGRATULATIONS TO HEROES
One of TIME Magazine's 27 People Who Mattered in 2006,
the only television show chosen.

The article is on the website
http://www.nbc.com/Heroes/heroes_time.pdf

And I took the pictures made it into one picture but I don't know how to put the words in:

If there's some mistake in the picture notify me.

Great find and job in compiling this. Thanks! And hee, Simone's wine glass is indeed spilling over, while Hiro's trying to stop the red wine flow (hence his somewhat squinty-eyed look). What a great and fun cast shoot.

BTW, hope you don't mind if I update my own LJ post with a link to this pic.

Oh, boy, I'd better find that issue before it's too late then! I'll head to Books-a-Million later today to find it. (For those of you not living in the Southeast, Books-a-Million is like Barnes & Noble and Borders, but I don't have a Borders here in Montgomery.) Thanks for the tip-off. I love finding articles about Heroes! Speaking of which, a co-worker the other day gave me one of those special ad inserts with the plastic cloud cover covering up the ad (it's the clouds/skyscrapers ad we've all seen by now). Oh, well, I digress. I'll find that magazine today! cool.gif

I did - that was fun too. When you think about it, there's so much you could do with a cast like ours, including Micah (Noah) who was sadly missing from the shoot. I was even looking for Mohinder (the lizard) but alas, he (it?) was no where to be found. Hee.

Actually, if you look closely, Nathan's feet are by no means flat on the floor.

What an awesome job by whomever at Time came up with the shot. *drooly*

Nice one... I did not notice that. They should have lighted that part better. Anything else you noticed?
I think they should have given Issak's eyes the glazed over look

The pic's great and all, but I have one little stinker of a complaint: Why is Matt in his police uniform AGAIN!? I think I've seen Greg's character OUT of the outfit only two or three times in publicity shots for the show, and I'd like to see him OUT of uniform and in some good casual clothing. Also, Claire needs to get out of the cheerleading uniform. She's worn it enough times. Sorry about my ranting, but I think Matt's a little cuter when he isn't wearing the police uniform. mellow.gif

no problem
I meant to make it bigger..but It came out a little too small...
There are plenty of other scans out there by now, though

I guess uniforms were an easier way to show Matt and Claire in character?
What Up Hiro!
This is the best picture I have seen of all of them together! It is my wallpaper right now!

Gosh, if one of you talented folks can make an icon out of this photoshoot (say with animation b/c it's too large), let me know. You'd be my superhero forever! wub.gif

I do! It means that Heroes is the most interesting show out there. Mr. Kring, you have yourself a shiny gem.

Yay for Heroes love from the press! I love that photoshoot! A couple of them look funny though tongue.gif

It seems like they're all one big family from the access holywood video. And Hayden's reaction was great.

The photoshot, even though it lacks Micah, is great. My favorite part (besides the parts mentioned) is definately Jessica in the mirror.
