When Niki broke the night stick it may have been the first time that she has used super strength. This debunks the theories that her power is that she can host Jessica, and Jessica's power is that she can use super strength.

Poor Nikki! That Jessica is getting her in alot of trouble but atleast if she cops an insanity plee she will avoid the death penalty.

Anyway did anyone else notice that it seemed that when she was talking to micha and fighting the cops she was Nikki the whole time, it didn't seem that Jessica showed up but she still had the strength to brake the nightstick, could it be they are melting together more? Just a thought

I may be going out on a limb here, but I'd guess that the person who started this thread noticed...

At first I thought what had happened was that Jessica took control just long enough to break the nightstick, then let Nikki have control again. But that would just get her into more trouble, and Jessica seems to want out as soon as possible. So yeah, I'm wondering if maybe the Jessica personality is beginning to fuse into Nikki.

i think when Nikki is angry she has a bit better contol over her powers. And Jessica was just a catalyst much like how D.L. first used his power when he was in jail and slipped out of he cuffs.

I'm pretty sure that nikki is just getting better at taking her body back. I think it was Jessica that broke the stick and then she turned back into Nikki. The rules of the character are that Jessica has the super strength, I don't think they are just going to change the rules like that.

true but i do beileve that she will gain control over Jessica or her powers at some point. if you've noticed often when a hero is angry they don't really control their powers all to well.

Rules? What rules? The writers supposedly haven't picked a direction for them yet, so they've been keeping us guessing this whole time and keeping their powers vague, and I don't think that that's changed in this episode.

This doesn't debunk anything. It just shows that Nikki and Jessica are further melting into one another. Nikki looked genuinely confused when she broke that stick, but for just that one instant, obviously Jessica took control.

I think they both have the super strength since they're in the same body, but only Jessica knew about it

She was too surprised and shocked by what happened. and Micah was there, she was trying not to tell him about Jessica. Anyways, it seemed like her eyes changed for that second..like it was actually Jessica...but as if she now has the abilitilty to see what jessika does when she is in control

I do think there's something there with the "fusing personality" idea, and I also believe that when the situation somehow directly involves her son, Nikki seems to have the upperhand.

Niki was threatened by the guard's fearful reaction (displaying his baton) and Jessica (her protector) manifested, snatched the baton and snapped it like a twig! Niki returned to herself only to find that she was holding the broken halves of the baton (that Jessica broke!) and was immediately subdued by the guards.

i love niki and jessica.. thats pretty much how i feel about every character in the show now. They could probably make a whole new tv show of her breaking out of jail and evading the cops. shee's sexy

still wanna see how they connect the niki-jessica, micah, and dL story with everyone else... CAN'T WAIT!

i'd bet money it's through Linderman, cause they connected Nikki and Nathan (in more was then one) through him. And Hiro and Ando were playing poker with D.L.'s buddies that worked for Linderman

I guess I'm truly confused here... how do we know it was Niki? Did I miss something? I thought it was Jessica. I thought Niki was switching back and forth much quicker now, like she was fighting it better, but that was a moment when Jess won out... in order to try and hug Micah. Am I wrong?

I'm confused as well. I think you may be a bit closer to the truth, though. I think the switches are happening faster and faster. Niki wanted to hug Micah, but the instant she was threatened by the guard, Jessica broke the baton, then she switched back to Niki and was confused.

The Sceen that had me wondering the most is the 1 where Jessica/Nikiki snaps the Night Stick in 1/2! Then looks at it in shock and drops it!
Was it Jessica? Or was it Nikki who snaped the Night Stick?
Maybe this is a sneak peak of Nikki actually controlling her super human Strength!

I found that interesting too. I assumed that was Nikki because she looked surprised she did it. I'll bet Nikki thought the strength came from Jessica but I think now she knows it's not.

Maybe now that Nikki knows that she can excercise some control over Jessica now.

When did the writers set a rule that only Jessica had super strength? At one time, Isaac thought he could only paint when he was high on drugs. Personally, I think Niki has access to super-strength as well. She just has to learn to control her powers like everyone else.

Niki did it. Look at her face, there is always a sneer when she is Jessica, and there wasn't when she broke the stick. That coupled with the expression of shock tells me Niki did it and she didn't know she could.

According to Leonard Roberts (DL) in the cast commentary this week, it was Niki that snapped the baton, not Jessica.

My theory is that Niki and Jessica share a physical body, their gift is strenght, a physical ability. Jessica has no hang ups on fighting and discovered the ability long before Niki did and used it. Niki never thought about using the super strenght because she was not aware of it. Who would think they could break a baton in two? Niki was upset and really wanted to hug Micah and when the baton came at her, she instinctively grabed at it and snaped it without thinking, a gut reaction. Maybe she is picking up some of Jessica's know-how by being exposed more to her now..

yay! i actually guessed something right! or at least about the part that it was Niki in that particular scene anyways. but that was definitely a "holy ******, i just broke that thing in half" kind of face, not an "oh my God, not Jessica again!" face. her facial expression would've been completely different if that was Jess.

I've wondered for a long time whether Niki also has super-strength, she just doesn't know/believe she does.

Theory: Jessica originally surfaced to protect Niki from their abusive father. In doing this, she figured out that she has super-strength. Father went away, but Jessica didn't. She continued to protect Niki in dangerous situations, but she also began to control and manipulate Niki. She kept Niki believing she was weak, because if Niki discovered her strength she wouldn't need Jessica anymore. Often, how we act is based more on what we believe we are capable of, rather than what we are actually capable of. So anytime Niki was threatened, she would cower in fear, and then Jessica would come out. But this time, Niki wasn't being threatened, she was acting on her own profound desire to comfort her son. Jessica didn't get the opening to come out, and Niki in her anger discovered a little of her own strength.

I also suspect that, despite her protests that she is not crazy, Niki does in fact have multiple personality disorder (not schizophrenia), and that her hero ability is her super-strength.

I thought it was pretty cool as well seeing Niki's reaction to breaking the stick. I also thought it was funny when Jessica said "Who do I gotta lay to get outa here?" I was the guy on the couch with my hand in the air lmao! Pick me Pick me!

Could be a red herring. Masi Oka hinted about how he works for some CG company that worked on JP or something. That didn't pan out. So far.

I had kind of hoped they would do some sort of CG dino thing.. but not a fight, more like maybe one stab, then fleeing, then escaping. I can live without though. I'd already resigned myself to the fact that it was just going to be a model in the museum, so I wasn't surprised.

with the exception of hiro going back in time (which would be stupid)... it would work. if someone had animated a dinosaur, it would be hard to explain to the public and cover it up... and the shows not about that.

This is a bit off the current topic, but wen Nikki breaks the stick at the same bit, wen DL is talkin to her, is she Nikki or Jessica? Can Jessica even come out, break the stick then go away that quickly? Here is the speculation part - I reckon Nikki may be learning to use her strength without Jessica's help.

I'm betting she will get more control over the Jessica personality and gain the use of her powers.

Alright, I've been thinking about this all night, and I have finally come to a conclusion of my theory:

Of course, it's known that Niki/Jessica is pretty much symbolic for a Light/Dark comparison, fighting the darkness within, etc.

But has anyone ever thought that each twin manifests their own powers? Think about it:

Not only is it semi-proven that Identical twins seem to develop an almost Psychic link with one another, but go with the fact that this is Heroes and perhaps that IS what happened.

My take is that Niki, being as almost pure and innocent as she seemed in the beginning, actually has the power to communicate/bring back the dead spiritually, and by doing so, she also Subconsciously brings back her sister, with whom she shares a psychic link, making it easier.

Jessica, on the other hand, being brought back has manifested herself with Niki's body, and through this psychic link, they can switch minds to take control. Jessica, then, is actually the one with the power of super strength. Saying that if she were alive today, that would be her power.

It's not just a doppleganger.

Not quite "original" as I've said this before... and I'm sure many others have but, still a good theory
