Eden's body was found in Ramsey Lake, in Sudbury, Ontario. I happen to live in Sudbury, and was curious to know why it was chosen by the writers.

Does someone working on the show have some connection to the Nickel City? Anyone know?

Wasn't it Sudbury, 200miles outside of Ontario smile.gif

But yeah, I was curious too, almost went to look up images of the map to see if there was a connection.

Apparently the writers and producers of Heroes don't have super geographical powers, though. During tonight's episode a policeman describes the discovery of a dead body this way: "They pulled her out of Lake Ramsey, in Sudbury, a hundred miles out of Ontario."

Say what? Last time we checked Sudbury was a city and Ontario either was a lake or a province. In this case, neither makes sense.

Normally we sensitive Canadians would take offence. But dang it, we like Heroes too much to hold a grudge.

Just don't do it again, eh?

Was it verified that they said "Ontario Canada?" There is an Ontario California as well...with a few lakes in the nearby area if I can remember correctly.

Lake Ramsey is in Canada. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Ramsey

When I first hear the Sudbury thing I was totally confused. How could a lake be "in" Sudbury and also how could Sudbury be 100 miles "out" of Ontario?

I don't understand the 100 miles out of Ontario, but they definitely mentioned Sudbury and Lake Ramsey. I am from Sudbury and Lake Ramsey is smack dab in the middle of Sudbury. Sudbury's main hospital is right on the lake. It is about 7km long.

That confused me too. Somebody buy the writers a map!

I think they chose Sudbury because it seemed remote...which is pure laziness on the part of the producers, if you ask me.

Does anyone from the production team read these boards? IF they do, here's what I have to say:

Sudbury is approximately 250 miles or 400 kilometers from Toronto, the capital of Ontario. It is, most assuredly, inside Ontario. It is home to INCO one of the world's largets nickel producers and has been immortalized by country music legend Stompin' Tom Connors.

Sudbury is also home to Science north. If you check out Google Maps, you can see Science North in the sattelite images of Ramsey Lake (or Lake Ramsey, either or) on the western shore when you zoom in.

As a matter of fact, Science North in Sudbury was one of the original locations scouted to be the White Queen's Lair for the original X-Men script because of it's architecture.

Don't use a Canadian city as a throw-away explaination and then not bother to research the location of the Canadian city. If there's one thing we are touchy about as Canadian viewers (OK, mainly speaking for myself here) it's that no one else, other than us, seems to know our geography...and we expect at least that much from our neighbours to the south...
clamzoopa
why do i have to know your geography?

By the way there is no Burnt Toast Diner in Midland or Odessa Texas. The writers are so wrong! *rolls eyes*

Actually, how come it's Midland/Odessa? When Dallas/Fort Worth is infinitely cooler? Claire should be from Dallas and Charlie should be from Fort Worth. I bet there's a Burnt Toast Diner in Fort Worth somewhere...

I still have issues with the scenes that they've shot in "Odessa" with all the green trees and stuff... obviously they have NO clue what west texas is like

Oviously they shoot the whole show in the same city and don't have terraforming powers.

One little mistake in this episode..kinda bugs me a lot.

Lake Ramsey in Sudbury, is not 100 km out of Ontario. It is pretty much smack dab in the middle of Ontario..I know this..because I live there. I drive by Ramsey on my way to University.

Also, I was totally shocked to hear Sudbury on Heroes...first the Colbert Report..now Heroes?! We're movin up in the world.

In this episode they talked about how they pulled Eden out of Lake Ramsey. "She turned up three days ago...well, what was left of her anyway. They pulled her out of Lake Ramsey in Sudbury a hundred miles out of Ontario." This is incorrect. Lake Ramsey is a lake in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, located near the city's downtown core.

Interesting...

What I noticed more about that scene was that this FBI agent seemed not to know anything about Sylar before Mohinder called him. How could he not know that there were other FBI agents hunting for Sylar? You'd think he would have checked the FBI database and seen that Sylar was on a wanted list.

Maybe that guy really wasn't FBI?
