Seriously tho, It would be supreme badassedness to see Ted in one of Isaac's comics with his irradiated energy orbs in his hands!

It definitely looks like he's learned to harness his power.

In the comic it says that Ted has to release the energy building up inside him. He's going for a more controlled release. And I guess he will take advantage of his new mastery and using some minibombs to get back at, let's say, HRG.
I doubt he turns into a torch, because there's no need now that he's starting to channel the energy nice and clean.
Likely scenario (a guess, no spoiler):
Ted finds out about HRGs facility and uses his ability as a door opener. In turn, Sylar will get out.

Yea, then he thinks Sylar is like him, a caged experiment, and takes him to NY. Then Sylar slices off his head and steals his powers.
Sylar then confronts Peter, who promptly kicks his a** but not before recieving the uncontrollable power (at this point in Peter's mind) that causes him to explode.

Honestly, I can't quite imagine it plays out much differently from what you just said. That's how I see it happen.

Seriously cool. Teds energy balls are one of the most "comic book" dramatic powers that the Heros have manifested so far. They would look great on one of Issac's panels.
A flying Peter shooting Ted's energy bombs would finally reach the level of a comic book
SUPERHERO!

Ted is not caught yet. The military found his shack but he's just one
kaboom from freedom again.

That's the biggest event in the comic so far. I mean, in terms of things that are not on the show and which are pretty important. I guess next episode has to add a little in front of that or it will be too sudden.
Or else, this is never shown and just reported on the news, something like that.

I think it's great to see that Ted has accepted his power, who he is now, and is now trying to control his gift. Can't say I support his desire for revenge, though. I'm looking forward to seeing him and his powers in action evetnually.

I like it. Straight to the point, and not a convoluted theory.

I'm wondering if we're seeing a rival group form against our heroes? Hana and Ted and? vs Peter, Hiro and the Others...

Hm, interesting notion. Two groups with different motives VS HRG and VS each other.

So X-Men the series with the following characters:
Claude: Professor X (In that he trains peter to control his powers)
Peter: Rogue
The Haitian: Wolverine (Not ability wise just from the lone wolf standpoint of the character)
HRG: The senator
Ted: Magneto (Again, not based on ability but position)

Actually HAna would be Magneto since she found ted and, if you all are correct, is leading the new group against hrg and the others.

I don't want to open a new thread for this, but...wasn't the scene introducing Ted in this episode a reference to Terminator?
That flash of light in a shackle thing seemed familiar. I remember in T2 it was behind some trucks or something...actually, I don't remember.

In T1 it was in an alley for Reese and near a Caterpillar for T-800.
In T2 it was on an empty parking lot for the T-880.
both ways it was just the light given off by the time ball.

Why does everyone think Ted is going to go all evil on us?
Ted is a good guy. His power manifets from his personality; the way he lets his anger cloud his judgement and push him to rash decisions. Now that he is, alone among all the heroes, training to focus and control his power, he should likewise be able to control his anger.
Ted will probobly go along with Hanna's twisted little scheme for a while because he is too trusting and he still harbors a deep resentment for his powers and those that activated them within him, but in the end, and certainly before he does anything too drastic, Ted will realize the error of that path. In the end, the information that he will bring to the "good guys" through his association with Hanna will benefit them more than his temporary lapse in judgement.
