I saw it and am currently in a debate about whether it was written for him to sound really snarky or not. I'm thinking it was a snarky exchange, but someone else thought it was just friendly banter.
Since it's a two-parter I'm holding out hope that Masi will appear in the militant fruit sketch as a Japanese plum.

I did.
In Canada we get it on Sunday nights so I was in the living room and my roommate comes running into the room telling me that Masi was on Studio 60. So being the fan girl I’m turning into I had to watch.
It would be nice if he was in the second part too.

I swear, I tried to watch it for Masi but this show is entirely way too pretentious for me. I had to change the channel.

I was very disspaointed when I saw it was only like 10 seconds long. Masi Oka deserves a much bigger part! grr!

that show just doesn't do it for me. I've tried to give it a chance on more than one occasion, before changing the channel in a state of confusion and anger. I'd rather watch Ron Propeil's "Set It, and Forget It!" infomercial.
which doesn't say much, because I kind of love that infomercial.

I agree with you, it took all my strength to sit through that show for a 10 second Masi Oka cameo...

i dont get how the ppl are funnier just talking than when they are acting on the "comedy" show. The sketchs they have dont even make sense.

I thought it was rather ironic, given the buzz about the shows prior to the season started. Studio 60 was a much hyped show in just about every article or discussion about the TV season by every mass media outlet. While Heroes was hyped, it was only in certain circles and seemed like more of a potential "sleeper hit" show.
To see Studio 60 a few months later trying to ride the coattails of Heroes' runaway success is quite the turnaround.
I'm a fan of both shows. I far prefer Heroes, but I enjoyed Aaron Sorkin's writing on The West Wing, and I enjoy it on Studi 60 as well.

It may not be bad, but it's not for me. I'm more of a LOST/Heroes kind of person, a more of a "hey, let's go on line and chat about theories!" kind of person. That's my kind of show. although I do like the romance between Amanda Peet's character and the other guy. From what I saw, it's so sad that he likes her, but has no luck, I know the feeling that's why. I just think it's adorable.

It is interesting to see what the network does to try to pull in the viewers. I also watch both shows but had the problem in the beginning of not being able to get past the fact that the show is a drama about making a comedy show. Once I accepted that, and saw the NEvada episodes, then I became hooked. They're making an effort to improve the comedy writing, though. They even hired Mark McKinney, a proven and award-winning comedy commodity, to write the in-show sketches as well as appear in his itty bitty little part.
I liked seeing Masi there, but I didn't like the way the dialogue was written. Sometimes Sorkin shows end up being directed so that the dialogue is presented in rapid fire. It didn't work for me that Masi and Harriet would have such a quickfire repore. Buuut that's just. And as I said before, I didn't like the snark factor.

I am also fans to both show.
"The Christmas Show" of Studio 60 was so good, I put it on my cellphone, and watch it whenever I can! I must had watch that episode 10 or 20 times, during the hiatus. however the new episode weren't that good IMO. I start watching The West Wing after I saw Studio 60, and beside completely blown away by it, I now understand how "Studio 60" wasn't as good as TWW.
Masi Oka's cameo was short, but he got the best line to Harriet:
"You have to act though, you can't use your funny voice"
btw, Masi wasn't on the next(ep14) episode though. However the show that he was supposed to guest host in wasn't coming up yet. It depend on whether the show would actually show or simply skip ahead
