For funzies; If you could cast an actor(s) of your choice as characters in Heroes...
Who would you cast?
As who?
Do we know the character?
Is the character good, bad or otherwise?
Power? specify if yes.
where have we seen the actor/actress before?
dunno who Id pick, will post when I think of someone

Off of the top of my head without any details to it at the moment, I would definitely play favorites and cast James Marsters in Heroes.
And I would probably abuse my casting powers and throw Mark Hamill in there somewhere aswell.

I think they should make another star trek reference by bringing in Patrick Stewart, he can be one of the specials that turned bad from Linderman's group.

Patrick Stewart was be AWESOME!

If it were possible I would cast Jean Arthur as Niki/Jessica. She is great when she snarls and then cries and then giggles. She can do it all!
Patrick Stewart would be fun too.

i would cast steve buscemi as like a linderman hit man like the super hit man he played in things to do in denver and he would be invulnerable and couldn't be killed.
also i would cast jimmy stewart as a banker who could conjour up an angel played by henry travers and the angel would be inept clarence from it's a wonderful life , he would be somewhat helpful in situations but could also be a liability !

Christopher Walken as Linderman. Or peter petrelli. Or sylar. or anyone, really.

I think Patrick Stewart could have the power to play any sort of musical instrument and it would turn his enemies into tiny dancing girls. Could be interesting right?

his flute is silent so it would be great to see the dancers stomping all around controlled by his silent flute !sorta like san padrig's day whenever he breaks out the flute ! even if it was say hallowe'en mohinder would get into his little dauncing outfit and DAUNCE !

This seems an interesting idea, but I though another side bit would be to take characters in TV shows and describe what powers they have that the watcher may not notice.
Fer instance... I used to watch CSI all the time, but I stopped for many reasons. I then watched a new episode yesterday and thought..
I think William Peterson (Gil Grissom) must have a special power. I have never seen anyone who could take any humorous event and turn it into so dry. He must be Super Boring Man.
So, what other charactes on TV have you notices special powers in?

I forgot to mention in the initial post NO RE-CASTING.
On your note texgrog, CPL Radar O'Riley from M*A*S*H must have had Super hearing to know about the choppers before anyone else did and possibly precognition to know what LT COL Blake and later COL Potter would need before they knew they needed it. The COL's would be needing X in the next few minutes and Radar supplies X before they even ask for it.

I would love to see Lauren Collins in Heroes. Such a talented young lady...
Ooh! And Ali Mukkadam, he and Lauren good play teenage/YA Heroes, maybe in college. Both great actors, and maybe they'd draw a few more teeny-boppers to the shows.
Now, abandoning my teenage fangirl instinct, a few tasteful adult actors I'd like to put on Heroes would be Kristin Chenoweth (never underestimate the Cheno), Hayden Christiansen, Patrick Stewart, Harrison Ford (an older SG, yay!), Anne Hathaway, and Nathan Lane. Amazing actors and actresses, and I would love to see what their characters would be.
I mean, just off hand, those actors/actresses are wonderful at what they do, and I would enjoy seeing how they would fair (fare?) in a show like this.

Yay for Kristin Chenoweth! She's terrific. I think it would be great to see her on the show (even if it would mean yet another beautiful blonde...). What would her power be? It ought to be something voice-related so she'd have a chance to use the pipes.

BTW, Driving_Mish_Crazy, it's "fare" in this context.

And, for my entry into the casting pool:
I'm pretty sure that Sylar needs to get a girlfriend. And I really think she should have brown curly hair and green eyes, and be able to raise one eyebrow dramatically, and be stage-trained, and play villains really well. I happen to know where they can find one of those. . . .

I think Harrison Ford, Patric Stewart, and Nathan Lane would be too A-List for the show. They're so famous for their roles/been typecast so much, that they would distract the audience. Plus they might want too much money for their parts.

The actress who played Claire's mom Meredith reminded me of Kristin Chenowith... I can see her as that sort of character (probably because I've seen her in RV - which was both painful and a bit better than expected in parts; don't judge me!)
Hmm, I would like to see Anthony Stewart Head on the show (once it was suggested as a possible Linderman casting I was like, aww! I want him to be on Heroes somehow.) Who else, who else... I'd agree with the James Marsters vote! (Can you tell I'm a Buffy fan yet? lol) I have no idea what kind of characters they'd play though.
I have a couple of ideas for powers/situations:
I'd like to see how the powers have/will be exploited, either in the past or in the future. For example, maybe a 'Dazzler' like character who exploits their power for fame.
Another area I'd like to see explored more (maybe) is the 'in-the-dark' hero - perhap a character that, having control over one/some natural forces, is convinced that they are a witch or goddess or something supernatural. I'd like to see how they deal with that and maybe realize their actual nature through interaction with other heroes.

I love this idea. We haven't seen much of people grappling with where their powers come from. On the whole, most of the characters have accepted pretty readily "Hey, I can do something weird that no one else can do!" without really questioning it much. I really like the fact that the Haitian talks about his power being a gift from God, and I think it would be interesting to see more characters dealing with questions of the supernatural.
I've been trying to think of other actors I'd like to see on
Heroes. The thing is, I don't actually watch that much TV, so I'm not as familiar with current television actors. And many big-screen actors aren't likely to do TV work, except as a special guest part or a stunt-casting part. Hmm... One of my favorite actors is Gary Sinise, but I'm not sure I can see him fitting into the
Heroes world.

Hey, if the shoe (or the pointy black hat) fits!
Would I kill to be Idina Menzel? Pretty sure I might! (OT: I really hope that rights to
Wicked will be released to regional theaters while I'm still young enough to play Elphaba...

)
Maybe KC's power is the ability to produce a cloud of iridescent bubbles everywhere she goes. . . .

Hahaha, bubbles!
And you're not alone, I love Wicked and Idina Menzel is wonderful. I would jump at the chance to play Elphaba (Glinda would be fine, too, but Elphaba reminds me of me. Wait, does that mean I'll end up evil?), anywhere is fine, even if it's only on a small stage. And my spelling sucks late at night, too, if I'm tired enough.
I would gladly play anyone connected to Mohinder in any way.
But yeah, Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, possibly, and even Megan Hilty and Lea Salonga would all be interesting actresses to see on Heroes. (I saw Wicked a few weeks ago, Megan Hilty played Galinda, and was
hilarious, the crowd was n an uproar during Popular!)

Love that song. If I'm ever asked to show something against type, it'll be that!
Idina might be interesting on HEROES. She's got a really intense look that would fit into the feel of the show well.
I wish I had more ideas for good casting suggestions. All I really care about is that they get more women on the show as regulars. It would help if some of those women were not young, blonde, and hot, too. (OK, so the "blonde" doesn't really bother me specifically--but the "young and hot" does.) I thought Dale (the super-hearing woman) was completely fascinating, and you can't imagine how hard I was rooting for her to get away from Sylar. I'd really like to see more characters/actors with the warmth and depth of personality that she had.

Hm... probably Aaron Stanford as a random "superpowered" killed by Sylar, Ray Park as Nathan Petrelli (for the heck of it), Steven Strait as Peter Petrelli, and Sebastian Stan as some randomly odd person on the show.

Idea: Scott Bakula as a Petrelli, Just something that ran through my mindI was just thinking what everyone else though of him portraying someone in the Petrelli family. I was watching .07% and it just kept running through my mind how Nathan reminds me of him.
Any takers?

Maybe Papa Petrelli in flash backs?
