I was just thinkin'. What do we really know about Linderman that has been confirmed on the show and also on the Graphic Novels?

These are what I know:

-Linderman served in Vietnam with Nathan and Peter Petrelli's Dad.

-During Vietnam, Linderman used his powers. (perhaps first time in public)

-Linderman is loaded and works in his own hotel/casino as a chef.

-He's trying to scam the elections in Nathan Petrelli's favor.

-Perhaps not alive in the future(?)

-There was an Act named after him.

-He has a good knowledge about others, and knows that New York will be destroyed.

Ok, those are the ones that come to mind. I guess there are plenty of questions that I have too. Like how does Linderman know so much about the explosion? How did Linderman get all that money? Anyone?

I think linderman became obseesed and greedy about finding the rest of these people like him. In the beginning he might have been innocent but once power and money got into it he changed direction.

He really likes the old Ludwig von..

Sorry, I had to biggrin.gif

He's starting to remind me of a older Sylar. Maybe that's why he surrounds himself with other heros.

This is one case that I hope is a "soap opera moment." I kind of hope Linderman is Sylar's father. It's not that implausible. Sylar's what, 30? Who knows where Virginia Gray (and Linderman) were that long ago?

linderman made his money from secretly healing others. his power would be physical restoration. this is why he can heal plant or animal. this in itself would bring him tons of money. the casino is just a front to cover him, but i think he made a profit from his casino as well.

did anyone notice the care taker ability when he suddenly appeared behind hiro. he ws gone for more than a min. linderman did have mutants working for him.

Nice job everyone..Except one thing...

He doesnt work as a chef..He was cooking the kitchen because he said he doesnt trust anyone else to make it for himm... Hell I wouldnt if I were him either biggrin.gif

Hmm, don't forget that he used to be part of a group of people with powers, but broke away from them because he felt they were greedy.

More like philosophical differences.

Some like Charles Devoux think Linderman is wrong. For Linderman's the ends justify the means.

To Linderman his comrades like Petrelli Sr. lost his way because they refuse take his cause.

Kaito Nakamura believes in their Legacy to the younger generation as opposed to Linderman's manipulations. That's why he indoctrinated the spirit of heroism in Hiro and thought that Bennet would be the best to raise Claire for he saw despite the nature of the Company, Noah Bennet had moral fiber.

Remeber that in the graphic novel Petrelli Sr. appeared to have NO extra abilities in Vietnam although in the show his wife states that he was one of the previous generation of "Heroes". He was healed from near-fatal injuries by Linderman. So how does his ability KNOW what "healing" actually is? It can't know precisely, so there must be some discretion on his part - and couldn't turning on Suresh's "ability gene" be considered "healing" by someone who already has it active (Linderman)? Also he does have the ability to choose to heal (it's not a Midas touch per se) so with time he could likely gain greater control (why heal? Healing society of someone he viewed as dangerous could mean quite the opposite).

Furthermore, he tells DL & Niki that he in effect bred them to get Micah's abilities - indicating that he has a far greater practical understanding of the genetics involved than anyone else seems to have.

Although we can see that there have been occasional "heroes" for a long time there is a sudden swelling of their numbers in Linderman's generation and even more currently -- how many people has he at one time healed? - causing a permanent genetic change passed down to their children?

Personally, I think Takezo Kensei is Linderman. It's quite possible that he could be that old with the "healing factor" thing and all (think Wolverine). Over time, his powers could have evolved to the point that he could heal others as well as himself. Whether he is still alive remains to be seen (doubtful since he had his brain ripped out of his head). Remember, Linderman was in possesion of the the sword Hiro needed...I created a new topic if anyone wants to entertain this.

Something else we sort of know about Linderman...he was married.

At least I think he was...you can clearly see a wedding ring when he is making his pot pie in the kitchen. I was hoping a wife would pop out of the woodwork but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.

I'm almost positive this is exactly what will eventually be revealed... I just posted a similar reply in tte Nakamura topic area.
Apocrypha
I find it hard to believe that Linderman was Adam's follower. How is that possible when Adam was imprisoned. Plus, I get the impression that their goals are different.

I find it surprising how quickly Bob took over the company with the whol new policy set after Linderman's death. Also it is not clear where Angela Petrelli fits in -- she planned the devastation of New York w/Linderman, but the Haitian continued to work for her after breaking with the company, then was back with the company after she was apparently on the outside.

I wouldn't be surprised to find that Adam was NOT a prisonner - just pretending to get Peter's help... and may still be the ultimate authority behind it, promoting Bob when Linderman was lost & switching gears quickly to initiate a backup plan that Angela & Kaito would not have agreed to.
