Browsing though the forums, I realized that there wasn't a thread for my favorite Suresh, Mohinder the Lizard! No matter what you say, he's essential to the plot...and is definatly due for a return. NBC?
Talk about Heroes's only reptile here!

I am greatly saddened to see there is not more Lizard!Mohinder love going on here! So I will contribute.

First, what the hell? Who names a lizard after their son? Especially their still-living son? Aren't name-sakes usually something you do to memorialize a person who has passed on? Was naming the lizard after his son an act of affection for his living child on Chandra's part, or a demeaning insult to the child that disappointed him?
Also, I think there might be an interesting symbolism in the naming of a water dragon Mohinder, because these lizards eat insects, like crickets, and... cockroaches? Considering Sylar's symbolic ties to cockroaches, the insect-eating lizard could be seen as a symbol of Mohinder's antagonistic relationship with Sylar. Hmm, probably reading to far in there, but the idea strikes me as interesting, anyway.
I sure hope we see more Lizard!Mo in season 2. I'll be sad if that particular bit of inanity just gets swept under the carpet. T_T

I too think that Mohinder T. Lizard was cool on the show. Pretty interesting that Chandra named him after his son. I hope we see more of him in season 2.

LOL, yeah, I wondered about that too. I like to think it was a sign of affection on Chandra's part... I mean he's in a new country, striking out all by himself on research that nobody supports him on, he probably wants a reminder of home. Naming a lizard after your kid is weird, but I guess it's sort of cute when you think about it that way. Maybe he missed having someone to argue with his theories about and yelled at the lizard.
Mohinder didn't seem very fond of Mohinder...

was there even a reason that the lizard was in the show, was it just somting the writers or tim cring for the heck of it to give mohinder's father some life or was it just something for laughs or maybe it may sound stupid but maybe like most scientists ( although Chandra is a genetisist ) they test on animals and the lizard may have some insegnifigent (or not ) power or it might be a human with the power of changing into animals

Chandra testing on Mohinder Lizard? That's possible...but I don't think so. I think the lizard was just added in...to give Chandra more of a llife.

Lizards regenerate, don't they? My theory is the lizard and Mohinder have some genetic trait in common. Maybe Chandra planted some of his son's genes in the lizard? Or maybe the lizard is producing antibodies to the virus, like the human Mohinder.

no. not like Claire, anyway
some lizards can grow a replacement tail, but they don't re-grow bone. the new tail is different from the original. and the lizards that do that are in the minority anyway

there's a tank in Claire's new biology class that has the same "Symbol" stick that was in Mohinder the Lizard's tank

I was hoping that "Mohinder" the lizard would have been on the episode "Lizards" also.
I'm thinking that is was a bit odd to get a semi expensive pet ($50 and up) that needs to eat live food ($2 to $5 a week) and not have anyother reason for him to be there than just to remind Papa C. of home.
Please bring Mohinder the lizard back so we can get some questions answered... like how does a lizard without sticky feet climb up a bookcase and knock over a very heavy bood without getting squished.

For all we know, Mohinder might have donated Lizard!Mohinder to science and it ended up in Claire's biology class.

I hope that little Mo is still there feasting on crickets every couple of days.
Maybe if Sylar picks him up Little Mo can leave some type of toxic slime on his hand and he'll (Sylar that is) will die from it. Go, Go Little Mo...

I, too, hope to see Mohinder the Lizard again... but I doubt that he'll make another appearance. It seems that he finished his acting career in Season One.

I've a potential spoiler-related theory that Mohinder the Lizard will appear again early in S3 (read below if you don't mind being spoiled):
Mohinder could use him to do testing of a power swapping virus, but it end up swapping the both the Lizard's mind and wall-crawling ability, and that's why Mohinder will end up crawling on the ceiling/wall of his office as one of E! Kristin's spoilers claimed.

Hmm.. Maybe Mohinder will do it like The Lizard from Marvel, do some science on his lizard and have some regenarative super serum? No, NO WAY that or anything about any super serum wouldn't happen on Heroes, they are just too cool for that, right?

... I agree with you, I thought the same thing. I was thinking that Chandra named the lizard Mohinder because he knew if his son were to develop an ability it would be rather lizardlike. We'll need to see what the writers write though.

I understand what you guys are talking about but that would mean Mohinder has more of a mutation rather than an ability. But he did say, "he got the formula wrong."

Whatever happened to the lizard? I mean, is he dead, is he wild in New York, is he still in the apartment and spends his days setting traps to get rid of that usurper the turtle in a Tom and Jerry scenario only with reptiles?

I guess Mohinder the lizard was written off the show. Too bad.
Or, maybe he went with Molly to India. It would be more "Natural Habitat" for him if so.
