Any chance that we will see some older Heroes? There are a lot of us Golden Age / Silver Age comic book readers. We are older than the Heroes revealed to date. How about it? How about a fifty something Hero?
Viper
The creator of the show has mention that these 9 heroes might not be the only ones to gain a power. They can and most likely well introduce some new heroes at any age any time during the series.

Interesting idea. Can't say I agree with it but it would be interesting. I'm currently liking that these ordinary people are the first Heroes. No one to teach them, mentor them, tell them what to do. I want to see them struggle to find their own place in the world exactly like what the Golden/Silver age heroes had to experience. To see these characters turn into the icons like Golden aged Superman, WW, Batman would be awesome.

Now if you're talking about an older person developing powers and seeing how he'd cope, I'd have no objections to that.

Agreed. I think they should be left alone to develop their powers and rely on each other for encouragement, etc. If a "Mentor" were to be introduced, I would want it toward the end of the first season as a teaser for the next.

I don't think the original poster is saying that the Hero has to be experienced... if the eclipse has something to do with them gaining powers.. then they are probably the first... but I think the original poster is saying why can't there be an older character/actor who also gets powers.
Viper
Thats what the original poster whated to ask, why couldn't there be an older character gaining a power.
Court
I suppose it could be possible that these 9 aren't the only "heroes" in the world.

I think we will all be surprised to find out that the eclipse is just a coincidence that ties them all together and in actuality this is something that although spontaneous for them is happening and has been happening the world over.

Up until this point however it was so infrequent that any reports of "supernatural or superhuman" abilities were either ignored or debunked.

If that's not the case and what happened to them is a sudden global phenomena then this show is going to get really amazing as they and the many like them contend with the ramifications of their newfound potential.

Has anyone ever seen/played the RPG Godlike before?
That is somewhat the way I see this playing out. Small manifestations at first and then BAM! It's happening all over the world and it sure isn't like the comics.

Perhaps we've already met some and don't know it yet. HRG, Mrs. Petrelli. The cop we'll be meeting soon seems a little older than the others so far, and surely here and there we will encounter older heroes. I agree that the age range seems limited to under 35, probably due to current Hollywood beauty standards.
eramp76
I think the last poster came close to the "Why". The demographics. 50 & up is not what they have in mind.
DeathJunior
but it'd still be interesting.
ersendaam
it doesn't follow to say that when you introduce a character over age fifty that they're making an explicit appeal to that demographic.

we all find truth and beauty and relevance in a character that age. they could be a tremendous asset to tell the story. perhaps not the most popular character. perhaps not the MOST relevant, or the MOST clever, or likable- but still an effective role to have.
DeathJunior
Would be funny to see a crazy old guy though biggrin.gif ... *old guy gets superpower to control lightning, decides to wear a robe and use a quartrstaff*
DeathJunior
definately
ersendaam
indeed. that would rock.

old people are my favorite.

like maybe this guy...

imagine him all witty and clever like.
with some sweet ability.

yeah.
that would rock.
Thrift_shop_ninja
or somebody too old to really control their newfound power, becoming an unwitting villion, and when they try to stop him, they have to find out a way to do it without harming him, since it isn't really his fault.

I dunno about 50 something Heroes.. but come Jan 22 there'll be a hero added to the series who's at least 30-something (the actor is 42 but doesn't look it).

According to the list, there are many older heroes. Why, one woman is in her 70's, I believe. We need mentors for our new heroes. I think it would be cool to have an immortal!
Marzipan
Forget 50-something. How about finding one of the Golden Girls? Betty White would be fricking hysterical with superpowers.

I would love to see a few "older" heroes. 50ish and older.
There are some really great actors and actresses that would be great to watch.

Maybe a lady who can control and make flowers bloom.
Or a gentleman who can make you see what life was like 50,75 or 100 years ago. Not just what he saw and experienced but all of everyones history.

(I would love to see the gentleman pictured above to have a power on the show.)
Nervous Nerd
Theres a good chance for older heroes depending on how big the list is. I would say we haven't seen all of it yet. Let's just hope sylar hasn't killed them all yet haha.
dcg
I would think that those who were older or more experienced with their ability would be able to vanish or hide better from HRG / Sylar.

I'd love to see Patrick Stewart make a 6 or 10 episode appearence on the show... He is a fantastic actor...

(I have other favorite actor / actresses that I think would be great on Heroes, but I won't list them all here.)
