so will any of the heroes cast get nominated in the best actress or actor category? in previous award shows, they only got nominated in the best supporting category.
how do we now who are the main actors? does that mean the heroes cast can only be nominated in the best supporting category?
lost has a big cast too but their some of their main casts get nominations in the best actor/actress category.

Maybe
Lost works differently and considers their most important characters the main characters? I have no clue because I don't watch it. My guess if any of them get nominated in those categories that they'll be in supporting since I believe that's where the actors put their applications in. We'll have to find out on the 19th (the day the nominations are announced)

I think I'm scared for them more than they are.

I am thinking for the "Best supporting Actor in a Drama Series" will have to go to Masi Oka in Five Years Gone. Even thou he was playing himself, he did an incredible and extremely convincing job of playing two versions of Hiro.
It takes a good actor to play two extremes of a character, let alone in the same setting opposite himself.

This kinda sucks, because I believe Heroes deserves an Emmy more than shows like Grey's Anatomy... but it's not going to get it because it's Sci-FI.. that's silly. Heroes is original, and that's why I love it.
Oh well, it will always be a winner in my eyes! (House must win now!)

I'm the same way. I have no high expectations so I will never be let down. I think it was said better in the movie Dodgeball.
If i remember correctly, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King won 11 Oscars and was the first Sci Fi-Fantasy to win "movie of the year" since Star Wars in 1977. So anything can happen. If I am wrong with the details, please correct me.

Thats pretty much the way I see it, Lauryn.
Aside from the Sci-Fi elements already working against it, I don't think the series has enough overblown drama (except for Hayden, she's awesome and hopefully nominated somewhere) to get the win here.
If Lost, Grey's Anatomy or The Sopranos don't kill it, Friday Night Lights will.

So do I (though not as much as Studio 60) but it seems to be the latest critics underdog darling.
The underperforming drama that some feel obligated to champion for one reason or another so it wouldn't come as a surprise to me if it goes home with the pity emmy.
Note that I'm not saying I think FNL is a bad show, because I don't, all I'm saying is I want to stab it in the heart and decorate my face with it's entrails.

I hope
Heroes getting snubbed at the Golden Globes isn't foreshadowing another snubbing at the Emmys. I'll bet
Heroes will get nominated in the Best Drama Category, but loses out to
The Sopranos because it's its last season
And I think the Sci-Fi discrimination is ridiculous. If it's a good show, it's a good show, it really shouldn't be treated any differently, even if it does stand out amongst all those other clones for shows. So what if the whole superhero element isn't very realistic? Isn't the point of TV to escape reality?

That didn't seem to work too well for Battlestar Galatica.

I'm not exactly a big fan of BSG but the fact that it continues to escape even just a nomination every year is quite surprising to me. The proof of the prejudice in the pudding is right there.

When you hit "reply", on the reply screen theres the Smiley option. When you click the arrow and all of the smiles comes down, theres an option on top that says "Show all"
If you click that, its a list of all the emotions. Scroll down to the bottom and you'll find Heroes emotions. Or you could type things like
:Sy*lar: or :Cla*ire: minus the *'s to get 'um

From
59th Annual Primetime Emmy's Eligibility and Rules siteQUOTE
10. Eligibility is based on screen credit. Producers may not alter an individual's screen credit in order to qualify the individual for Emmy eligibility.
For shows like Heroes and Lost, I think they are seen as ensemble casts. I'm sure the credits all say "Starring" and it was a conscious choice to remain all "Supporting Cast." I think that's what the cast of "Friends" did for the first few years, because remember, for many years, they were all nominated in the "Supporting" categories. I think eventually, they agreed, or just did it, and upped the noms to "Starring" categories... I think.
I could see the cast of Heroes unifying this way. It has major benefits for them at first. That's partially why the cast of "Friends" earned such large paychecks - bargaining as a group, sticking together as a team, etc.
Also interesting... Many agents actually do the submitting of the nomination videos, for their clients, and, there's a fee! I didn't know that. $250 or some such nonsense, to get submit! Wow!

Okay, so I've seen the list of people in the running for each category and I have a question maybe someone can help me answer. How exactly is it that Zachary Quinto isn't on The List for Guest Actor? My best guess is some sort of technicality about screen time/number of episodes. Since he was on about half of the season and would maybe qualify as more than just a guest star but he wasn't made a regular cast member till this year for next season. If anyone could help me answer this that would be greatly appreciated because his work obviously on the show was breakout quality.

Yeah, that's true. His acting was good, but not exactly amazing. The same goes for Milo...Sure, he's got the looks, but I'm afraid his acting isn't exactly Emmy-material. His acting was great in some, but in others, it was sorta meh. His conversation with Nathan in "The Hard Part" almost made me cringe. I also think he did a pretty poor job as Future Peter, but that's just me. (plans to kick self later because I'm pretty much in love with Milo.)

I think it had something to do with him not entering it by the right date or something? or not submitting himself, something along the lines of that.
I suspect all the awards to go to the regular shows such as 24, Lost and Grey's Anatomy, none of which I thought was any good this year.. 24 and lost used to be good, but they are kinda.. or really bad now. Grey's Anatomy was alight, but there was too much distraction with the whole cast situations that I found it hard to focus on the actual show...

That's my theory as well. There used to be a rule that somone listed as guest actor isn't eligible if they appear in more than 6 episodes. I thought they changed that but maybe not.

How can they totally snub Heroes and "sci-fi" shows? They should just make a separate category for "Sci-fi" shows. And they should totally sue for discrimination or something!
Lets see..nominations for Best Sci-Fi shows are:
HEROES---of course!
Battlestar Galactica (I LOVE it!)<--How can the Emmy's totally ignore Edward James Olmos?
The 4400-(They have some good acting too!)
..and other shows I can't think of right now...
There are a lot of decent sci-fi shows out there to have a decent competition.
