can someone please explain to me exactly what I'm buying? I have no idea what Trading Cards are, although i do have an idea.

^ Spoken like a true Heroes fan.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trading_cardsGenerally speaking the purpose of these sets is to collect and/or trade for cards. So, buying an entire box may not guarantee you an entire 90 card set, even though 24 packs x 7 cards = 168 cards.

this reminds me of the pokemon trading cards... and harry potter cards i bought years ago.. and they're just sitting there, untouched on my bookshelf.. and i'm not gonna buy the heroes ones, they're a waste of money. unlike the cards, i'll be using the DVD over and over again.

I probably wont buy them.. I'm spending all my money on the dvd set and the new harry potter book. I've never been really into the trading card thing anyway. Its a waste of money that could be spent on that cool necklace that they have at the nbc store.

I love cards. I might get some, but I don't want to order on-line, so I'll have to go see which local stores might have them in stock.

Topps is a baseball trading card company (though they do make all sorts of trading cards. Not just baseball cards.)

Topps is making it? How did I miss that?!
It would've been so much more fun if they turned them into a trading card game... but I guess it wouldn't make much sense...

My question is, will they just be like trading/baseball cards ('I'll trade you two Hiro Nakamuras for a Noah Bennet') or battle/Pokemon cards ('My Ted Sprague attacks your Claire Bennet for 50 points of radiation'). Either way, you bet I'll buy some! Eventually, they'll probably live with my Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh/Harry Potter/Sailor Moon cards under my bed. Except for Ted. The Ted card (which they WILL make. Ya hear me Topps?) will live next to my Quicksilver action figure and my comics in the corner of Awesome. =D

Nifty. I might buy some, then hide them from my parents, who would mercilessly mock me, like they did every time I spent loads of money on Pokemon cards. I am embarassed to say I have a full drawer of Pokemon cards, though I stopped buying them about two years ago.

Jul 13 2007, 09:02 PM
I remember buying Pokemon, Magic, and Yugioh cards. The most fun I had was Magic though.
From the looks of things, it may be that it's just a trading card, not Trading card game, although, like I said, it would've been cool if they made it a TCG. They could've come up with plot cards and the decks could be used to tell a story. Alas...

Yeah, I collected Baseball cards for a time my amassed collection:
Years in my inventory: 1958-2006, with the highest concentrations from the late 80's to early 90's
Quantity: hard to measure. A rough idea: got boxes full of them under half of my Twin Size bed, plus, if you stack all of my binders up, the stack would be about 9 ft tall
Source: bought some, but most of them were from 2 giveaways to me by an older collector and Bought from another guy for $40, both people were substitute teachers at my high school, that I knew getting rid of them that

Stop peer pressuring me kitty

Gosh...
But seriously, after buying packs and packs of Pokemon, Digimon, and Beanie Baby (yes, they have those) cards, all of which I had no idea what to do with, and leaving them in my closet somewhere to collect dust, I don't want to add to that collection of dust collected cards.

You young 'uns will soon learn!

I need to pay bills and buy food before I can even think about buying something like this. I didn't mean I am too old because collecting cards is childish, collecting cards will never be childish.

I could buy a box of these but it would mean that I don't eat for a week.

I once saw a Volkswagen Beetle entirely covered with laminated Pokemon cards for sale on eBay. They were super-glued on. It was awesome.
Cards are good for art projects. The only use I can see for these cards is to make them part of some sort of psychotic Heroes shrine. Or possibly using them to comfort yourself during the long agonizing weeks of hiatus.
