Hello all you heroes..
I'm in Belfast in the UK/Ireland where Heroes just debuted on the 25th July.
I ALMOST didn't get to hear about it at all and would have missed a special launch double bill last night (26th) featuring Episode 1 and 2, were it not for a tiny little piece on the series which I saw while looking through a newspaper that was three months old (I was just clearing up). It happened to mention that 'Heroes' had been a hot thing in the US, which prior to yesterday I hadn't heard about AT ALL, ANYWHERE!

I started watching, not even knowing what it would be about and was not expecting much (last time I tuned in to watch a hot US import, it was Ugly Betty which I didn't get through episode 1 of and haven't seen since), but it was just THE show I never thought anyone would have the intelligence to make.
I was a Marvel addict when I was younger and this captured the feel of a new comic series in just the way I can remember in print but a dozen times better. I can tell immediately that this is going to eclipse EVERYTHING that came before it in comics and television.

Catching up fast, I learn that the DVD box of season 1 is about to hit your shops (not in the UK until December). You're lucky guys, people! New season about to hit too in September.
The great thing about the series in the UK though is that it airs on the BBC which means NO ADS, NO INTERRUPTIONS.

But I'm still not sure I can wait for that boxed set until December.
I'm just thinking how amazing this is since this time 24 hours ago, I had no idea the series existed!

Anyway...I love the look and style of this board which, again, screams intelligent beings...

Dagnabbit. I'm in London from 15th to 28th!
Got to go Amsterdam after that so no chance of meeting 'em this time around. Going to Japan with japanese girlfriend (who loves it too, especially as it uses cool japanese slang) later in year so I know it's launching there and maybe they'll be following the launch around?

I don't even KNOW these people yet but I would still love to meet them before they become erm...HEROES.

You know what I mean.. laugh.gif

Well at least now I know there is at least 3 of us from "our wee country" on here. Can't wait to hear what the accents are like in the new series! Yes, I am one of the patient (i.e. sad) people who have waited for bbc to pull their fingers out!
