I love the awesome pairing of Mohinder and Matt to take care of Molly, i had a flash back of the show, "My Two Dads."

I did like that pairing, except for the small fact that Matt's wife and baby seem to no longer be a factor. Hopefully we'll learn later that she was actually pregnant with the other guys kid, which is a good excuse for Matt and his wife to be split up. Otherwise, I think it kinda lowers Matt's hero image that he just runs off to NYC leaving his pregnant wife behind so he can care for a poor orphaned girl.

That's what I was thinking too. I thought if they go back and fill in the gaps, this will be touched upon. But in "5 years gone" it seemed very obvious that it was his kid. Maybe things got that bad? That or the fact that it was the other guys baby caused the divorce, because I mean they were doing pretty well it seemed at the end of the season, and with 4 shots to the chest, you think his Wife might just forget all about any squabbles they had.

Yeah, I wonder why she did leave? You would think that she would be feeling a little different about her "baby's daddy" a few months after he almost died...

I think it makes sense if you try to look at it from her perspective. In her eyes Matt was struggling with something she didn't understand. Then she finds out she is pregnant. Amidst all this, Matt fails his detective exam, is fired from the force, then runs off to Texas with a federal fugitive, finally to show up in New York in a bizarre incident that no one can explain involving the death of a notorious Las Vegas mobster. He has been shot and appears to be a totally different man then she married.

I can very much see her wanting to get herself and her baby as far from Matt as possible until such time as he can sort out his life. Not to mention, Matt is eager to hide his new baby from The Company, so he would go along with the separation and divorce. It makes sense to me.

I agree with cheesybread. PLUS, Matt and Janice were already in couples' therapy even before he discovered he could read minds, so their marriage was kind of rocky to begin with. Add on all the stress of Matt's wacky mind-reading quest AND a pregnancy, and I can see how things might have just snapped. Even if the kid is his.

EXACTLY!

We tend to think about it from the character's perspective, since we like them and we understand what he's going through, but wow, it was A HUGE situation for any normal person to deal with. Their marriage was already stumbling, they were in counselling, she had cheated on him. Then, all of a sudden, first, he gets captured in Texas and since he was imprisoned, I doubt he called her to say "Well, honey, I won't be coming home anytime soon". So go figure how much she must have worried back then. Then well, he goes to New York (Did he warn her? Did he have time to? We'll never know), disappears again for who knows how many days, and ends up with 4 bullets on his chest.

Not something that any woman would take lightly. No wonder why she wanted to divorce him. But since we all know what Matt had been doing and why he wasn't coming home, we feel sympathetic for him. But in a normal situation, I think any woman would have filed for divorce.

That said... I had the feeling that Molly would end up with two "dads" by the end of last season and I was so happy that it actually came to be true!

And isn't it just the cutest? I love Mohinder doing the cooking and Parkman picking her up from school and the three of them creating their own little dysfunctional family. Her two heroes for dads, not to mention one of them being a genuine 'life saver' for her.

I like the idea of Mohinder being there for Molly. He at least has some fatherly instincts. But Matt, he is just an ooaf. I would like to see him go.
