On the surface it seems like his power is just like nathans, but I think it's more birdlike than Nathan's. If I remember correctly, Nathan's power was always described as self propelled, but in the graphic novel on the 4th/5th page west is shown cutting through the air. Also at the end of the premiere, judging by the expression on his face (disappointment that claire is being a "robot" i think?), i think he heard claire even though she was talking quietly. Based on the Novel he can also feel/smell changes in the atmosphere layer he is in. I could be right, or I could be overanalyzing this...probably the latter.

Nathan seems as though he doesn't like flying, and so only does so in emergencies. We've only seen him fly as fast as we can. He might be able to float around slowly, as well. We don't know, yet.

i dont mean the speed, i mean the method of flying. Nathan seems to push himself forward, but West seems to be more aerodynamic? I'm not very good at explaining things

I know, but just because we see them using their power dfferently doesn't men their powers are different. The kid loves to fly. He does so leisurely. In the GN we see him talking about the smells of the tropsphere.
Nathan is afraid of his power. He doesn't want anyone to know. When he flys, he only flys as straight and fast as he can. We've only seen him fly in order to save lives.

This really isn't that important of a topic, I just wanted to talk about it

.
Their powers probably could be the same, I dont know. If you accept that these powers are a form of evolution, I suppose it wouldnt make sense if every human on the earth had different powers.

No, it's the same power. Nathan hovered awkwardly when he first flew and when he rescued Peter. Peter also mentioned in the same episode that when he got out of bed, his foot "hovered" for a second.

They use it differently...if Nathan had the same personality, he'd be goofing off with his abilities too. But...thats just not in the cards now is it?
