This is an opinion thread! Do not bicker or make counter arguments if you disagree with someone else's review, or else! sliced.gif
Go! Go! Hiro!
i thought the ep was great. I dont want to spoil it for anyone but yeah great ep. lots of info and discoveries. 4 out of 5 lizards from me! YEEEEEEEEAH!!
Psykhanimucha
Five out of five from me.

Is this sinister force the same that Molly is having nightmares about? And what exactly happened to Peter following the explosion? Those are some of the questions that I want answered.

I'm disappointed, mainly because so many things from the preview weren't actually in the episode. This was almost just a preview for the next episode.

It was a really good episode, I especially enjoyed seeing Maya and Alejandro's abilities used together, and the scene with Claire and her toe...that was nice laugh.gif

Everything had really good pacing, and it was great to see the Haitian come back into play.

The only thing that I was slightly disconcerted with was that Niki was mentioned as being in this episode as well as having been included in the Ep. 2 preview after the premiere, but she was no where to be found in this episode dry.gif Oh well, at least we got to see good use of her powers via Peter and the guys at the pub...that was also a nice little scene, though I don't like the amnesiac storyline as a whole. Well, not yet anyway.

I didn't like the editing used to show Angela being attacked, but it's nice that we got that out of the way so she can start spilling the beans on our mystery assassin (hopefully)!

^^ The obvious answer is don't watch previews. wink.gif

Yea, I learned not to pay too much attention to the previews because it can be any upcoming episode! Overall, I liked being able to see Peter use his powers, and everything with Angela Petrelli sparked curiousity in me! Then my theory on Hiro/Kensei I saw come true...haha! Plus the trip to Port-Au-Prince and the reunion at the end was great, didn't expect that. 5 out of 5 for me.
VentiDeMilo
Ok, I find there's way too many of Claire and Hiro. Are their stories going anywhere at all? Ok, we get it, Claire has to act NORMAL! It's been repeating since season 1...

I'd rather see more of Mama Petrellie, Haitian, Peter storylines...

And where's Niki?

I find this show has becoming more and more the Claire and Hiro show...

Oh and how can Peter let that guy blackmailing him? Can he just tk the box?

The only thing I like about this ep is that we see Peter uses some powers...that's kinda cool...but too short.
Aia
The toe. mygah. smile.gif) and West still creeps me out being all stalker-ish.

So much for Nathan-being-the-killer theory.

It was a great ep. Left me hanging for more. Plus the usual "ARGH!" at the "To be continued..." screen.

4 out of 5 for me laugh.gif

I thought the episode was GREAT!

It would have been a 5/5 except the fact I was somehow tricked into believing Sylar was in the episode.. even though he wasn't in the credits. So i was kinda expecting him... and we all know I'm partial to him..

Besides that.. GREAT!

Amazing amazing A-MAZ-ING episode. Wow. Four Months Later was good, but not knock-me-down spectacular. This made up for it tenfold. Keep it going, please!
delusions_of_grandeur
I would say 3.5 Lizards, but the half-lizard regenerated the other half to give it 4 out of 5! tongue.gif

There were a few story lines that went a bit too slowly for my taste (the whole Claire trying to be normal thing, up to the point where she cut off her toe). I'm glad Angela survived her attack by Mystery dude. I like the storyline with Mohinder and the Haitian, and I am interested in the whole Maya and Alejandro thing as well. The Kensei story line was great, and OMG, Kensei can heal!

Overall...great episode!
persona
Where the hell was niki? This episode coulda been a 5 but becuz niki once again is no where to be found its a 4! Does anyone know when we shall see niki at all? She better have a big role this season

I liked this episode more than the premiere. The only thing I didn't like was the redundant conversations Claire and her father are having. She keeps complaining about having to be low-key, and he keeps telling her that it's necessary, and well, we've heard it like 10 times already.

I liked the development with Kensei. I'm glad they didn't kill him. A lot of people have predicted Hiro is the real Kensei, and I hope the writers continue to toy with us so we don't for sure know if that's true for a long time.

Peter being back in action was great, good to see someone use his powers.
kensei
I also liked this episode more than the opener. I'm starting to like the Hiro storyline a lot more now. I thought they'd go the predictable route and have Hiro take over. It actually surprised me when the white guy I will refer to as Haku-Kensei healed.

I hope that they'll team up and create the basis for the Kensei legends by pooling their talents. Throwing in the sword-smith's daughter to help and not just be a damsel in distress would be really cool too, I think.

It's interesting that the evolutions we've seen in the characters didn't just happen and that there were people with powers hundreds of years ago. What's also neat is we're seeing repeat powers now. If the writers decided that everyone should have original powers we'd end up with people with lame powers once the good ones ran out.
Besides, this way we can see how people with different personalities handle the same power.

Unlike last episode I don't think this one dragged as much. I can't think of a part where I wished for a change to someone else's story.

Exciting, sexy, interesting, gripping, surprising (see, it pays not to read spoilers smile.gif )
and I give it a ... on a scale of 5-10 .. an 8.5 (wanted Sylar and less Claire)

Where's Niki? Where's D.L.?

I voted 3/5. It was nothing extraordinary yet was still informational.

4/5. About the previews... didn't they say "this season on Heroes" rather than "next week" after the first episode?
Boogeyman
This episode was brilliant. I can already tell that this season is going top last's. smile.gif

I gave this episode 4 out of 5 lizards.

I enjoyed Lizards MUUUUUCH more than 4 Months Later. Lots of good info and things flowed pretty well. The only annoying part was WEST! Freaking stalker boy needs to go away. Someone should draw a Godsend symbol on his yearbook photo.
VentiDeMilo
5 Lizards - Peter kicking ******

4 Lizards - Mama Petrellie's mystery, the twins, kinda like their power, interesting, have not seen anything like that before, Mohindar/Noah's plot

3 Lizards - Mr. Muggle

2 Lizards - West, kinda cool to fly but not crazy about the stalking thing

1 Lizard - Hiro's yet another silly adventure that has nothing to do with the main plot again, and Claire's yet again whine about her personal life stuff, and Noah's yet again, trying to protect Claire blah blah blah

I really liked the Peter story line. Looks like his memory wipe did him some good and grew him a small set of balls. Way to go in using your powers. My question is though, why did he let that other guy bully him into working for him? So what if he has his box? Take it from him with your TK and then beat the chit out of him!

I gave this one 5/5, because it was exactly, perfectly what an early in the season episode should be. It answered several of our questions (What are Maya and Alejandro's powers? Where is the Haitian? Does Peter have everyone's powers from Kirby Square?) and yet left us with many more.

And people, I think these reviews should be about what was in this episode, not what we expected to be in it but wasn't. The preview last week did NOT say "Next week on Heroes," it said, "This season on Heroes."

Great, great episode.

Just watched the whole episode on YouTube.

What a great episode! Certainly a marked difference from Season 1. Full of action and excitement. Never a wasted moment at all. I liked Peter's new girlfriend Caitlin and his power display at the bar.

The special effects for this season has markedly improved since the last. More budget, I suppose.

I'll rate this an 8.5/10 for this one! A strong start for a strong season.

P.S I am little surprised that Ando did not recognise Matt from "Five Years In The Future". That would have been a nice touch.

The pacing was far better in this episode. If they can keep it flowing like this, it will be a great season.

Movement between plots felt natural, all the stories had interesting moments, so I felt this was one of the most cohesive episodes yet.

I rated it 4/5 stars. I reserve 5 stars for episodes like company man and five years gone.

To respond to a few other things:

Ando didn't see Matt very much in five years gone.

Peter scenes were great

No Niki might be why the story is flowing faster and better.

Flowing faster and better because of the directing by Alan Arkush and Michael Green's writing. I love this team! also, the Japanese scenes were like those in a big budget movie. Terrific!

5. It really had the punch that the first episode was preparing us for...revealed a lot, and left even more for us to guess on!

The show continues to take the Big Puzzle approach supplying dozens of new pieces and enough glimpses into perspectives of various players on the board without giving away too much. There is lots of interesting plot exposition, revelations, twists.

I have a tremendous amount to say so I better break it down.

First off I really liked how the story drew on various little details and pulled them together and made them fall in place in order to advance the story and get certain people together in plausible ways. For instance, it makes sense that Ando would call the police after witnessing the attack since he isn’t aware of the Company. So instead of the Company coming in and cleaning the mess up themselves as we saw we Sylar in Fallout, Eden or Simone, we get a nice way to bring in Matt, who seems to find himself investigating crimes involving those with abilities—last year with Sylar attacks, Ted and now this mysterious hooded figure, and the NYPD which makes things nice and messy.

Also the writers are keeping track of the fact Ando never crossed paths with Matt. Matt hasn’t really met HIro either. They were there at the showdown with Sylar but it was so chaotic he never got a chance to get his name and doesn’t realize HIro is special too. And no one knows he is in the past.

It also made sense they would find the picture with the symbol with Kaito’s body and Matt would recognize it as the same symbol Molly drew in her pictures of the New Threat. Are the attacks and NT tied? At this point I’m not sure. Then Ando tells Matt what it means and that it was Kensei’s crest. Then it also leads in nicely to finding a fingerprint on the picture since Angela did hold it last week and her fingerprint would be on file from her shoplifting arrest.

I’m also liking how the science classes have been used to raise questions for Claire.

I just knew she was going to chop her toe off and the episode did a good job dragging out the suspense as to whether it would grow back. Afterall earlier in the episode it was mentioned that the little toe isn’t really needed. I also appreciated the touch of it growing back and the CGI guys remembering not to include polish on it.

Tons of revelations:

There are eight paintings drawn by the late Isaac Mendez that I suspect depict the deaths of the Company power wielders. I wonder why Noah was only given the first and what he was suppose to do with it. We’ve only seen Kaito and Noah intereact once in “Company Man” but I’m not sure if there were additional interactions beyond that and in what capacity.

It also seems Sandra was told of Kaito since she realized his death in the newspaper was important enough to bring up to Noah.

The symbol was also used as the logo for Mr Petrelli’s lawfirm.

Nathan was talking with Matt when the attack on Angela occurred so does that eliminate him as a suspect making the brush with Ando a coincidence and misdirection. And Nathan doesn’t have the ability to do what we saw in attack.

Angela had an affair with Kaito. Did she also sleep around with Linderman too.

Kensei has an ability and as Kring promised it is one we had seen before—regeneration. Did it come on following eclipse? Kensei certainly didn’t act like he thought he was going to survive the arrow wounds.

The Haitian wasn’t wearing his necklace so it looks more and more likely that Peter is wearing his.

Tons of unanswered questions:

Who killed Kaito?

Who is the hooded figure? A familiar face or a new one? A single individual or a group of those wronged by the Company?

Is the New Threat that taunts Molly tied to this story?
Where are the other paintings? Presumably with the Company power players.

How did the Haitian get the virus?

If he was responsible for Peter’s memory wipe how long had he been sick? Good thing he survived otherwise if he is responsible Peter might never have recovered his memories?

What has Haitian been up to since we last saw him in Parasite? How did he get back from NY to Haiti?

He clearly has disdain for the Company. I didn’t see him going to work with Noah.

Has Angela been in contact with the Haitian?

Where did Haitian get the necklace?
Where did Mr Petrelli get the idea to use the symbol as his lawfirm logo?
If Charles, Linderman and Mr Petrelli were also victims of the hooded figure were there pictures with the symbol found as well?
Where does Bob fit into the Company?
What is Angela's ability?
What was Charles' ability?
Why didn't Simone have an ability apparently? Was she adopted?
Does Company know of the New Threat?

I didn’t expect West to see Claire chopping off her toe and regrowing it. Will Claire tell Noah or keep it to herself about West? If she tells him Noah will probably send the Haitian to wipe his memory? West must also wonder if the school is full of mutants.

Where does virus come from?

How is it transmitted?

Will Claire be a possible alternative cure to the virus? Like I mentioned last week, would her body regenerate before the virus inhibited her ability?

Could Maya contract the mutant virus and instead of spreading the virus she naturally gives off could she start spreading the mutant one.

Other thoughts: Maya and Alejandro are coming off as plot devices. I really have nothing bad or good to say about them beyond serving their purpose in the plot arc. They are constantly in “panic” mode and on the run. Hiro’s adventure was more interesting this week.

Little touches—the increased reference to Chandra’s book, Angela screaming “Get out of my head”. She was quick in realizing he was reading her mind even though she didn’t immediately recognize him as a special and it makes sense she wouldn’t since it has been the lower level employess interacting with them.

I’m not sure how much Noah has shared about the Company with Matt. Noah likes to feel important and special too. Peter was close enough to DL to absorb his ability so probably was close enough to absorb Molly and Micah’s. I expected him to use Niki’s strength to break the binds.

I'll give it a 4/5. It got the job done in introducing new puzzle pieces and making things even more complex as far as the viewer needing to recall previous character connections/histories and added to th confusion of how everything fits together.

A very good episode 4,5/5. Peter and Hiros storylines are great. The murder storyline is developing nicely, I'm pretty sure the villain has the same copy power Peter has (can fly, can go into peoples mind etc.) Bennet and Mohinder`s storyline is developing nicely. Maya and Alejandro are okay, but I wish they didn't introduce more main characters.

When I learned that Peter had lost his memory I was afraid we wouldn't see him really use his powers for half the season. Instead he is actually a lot better at using them than ever before. It's probably what Claude was talking about last season, that Peter has to let go to use his power. It's easy to let go when you don't have any memory. His fight against the criminals was just amazing. I don't understand the people complaining about Peter being a bad character because his powerful, that's like saying you can't write a good "Superman" story.

Hiro was great as Takezo Kensei, his Pai Mei laugh made my day and the battle of the 12 swords was just plain cool. Loved that the samurais wondered why he kept repeating his name, over and over again like many Samurai do in many of the old movies.

My main problem is the Claire storyline. It's not terrible, but it has very little movement. What really annoys me is that she had more screen time in this episode than Peter and Hiro put together(same as last week). That makes no sense at all in my book.

Another weakness IMHO is that there is simply too many storylines. Most of them only have five minutes total of screen time each episode which makes them feel a lot slower then they really are. I would prefer if they stopped introducing new characters(we are getting another one next week) and killed of some of the less interesting ones(Niki). More than four different stories in the same episode are just too much. The last episode felt like I was watching 7 different movies with different moods at once, and that's pretty tiring.
