This just occured to me a few minutes ago. Peter absorbed Charlie Andrew's memory power when he battled Sylar who stole it from her. The writers confirmed in an interview that Peter has absorbed all of Sylar's powers. This would make it impossible for Peter to forget anything. I still think this is a great show but the writers really should have thought of this before they went forward with Peter getting amnesia.

A) Haitian could have wiped his memory!
Peter could be like a Pheonix, or Dr Who, he did explode afterall, maybe his memory is wiped clean in reanimation/reincarnation.
C) Maybe they wanted a reason to add a Hot Irish chick love interest to watch over Peter

They did say they were going to bring somebody in to add romance to this season. I thought they had it last season but I guess I was wrong. But, he could still be healing from the radiation or the fall. I'm sure that giving time he will regain his memory either by Claire or Charley but Peter had to get a change of scenery. Like the saying "a fool is someone who does the same thing and expect different results." People would have definately complain if all of a sudden Peter started to get into his powers. He would more than likely do the same thing that he did in Season one. But make him forget what he did before and he can start fresh. Now he will be able to figure out how to use all those powers that he couldn't figure out last season and when he remembers, he will be able to add the powers together from last season.

They also said they wanted to get into other parts of the world. Well, they brought somebody from Mexico and now Peter is stuck in Ireland.

Lastly, more than likely when Peter hit the ground close to Ireland, or the water, his body would be more mangled than when he fell off the school. His body might have taken 4 months to make his legs, arms, flesh, and organs. At that speed I wouldn't be surprised if they will find the same as with Claire cutting off her toe. Parts of Peter all over the Atlantic Ocean were he hit and pieces fell everywhere. As long as he still had his brain intact, all he had to do is wait until he regenerated. With this picture, forgeting his memory is the least of his worry. He might have just woke up not too long befor he was found by these guys.

The writers didn't say he -did- absorb all the powers, they said he -could- absorb all the powers. And with what we know of how his power works, it shows he didn't get them all, cause he's only used TK, and he'd be trying like 10 powers everytime he went to use TK.

Even a person with the most accurate photographic memory in history may be seeing tweety little birds circling their skull after detonating.

I'm going with this one, based on what we have been shown so far it's the only one that makes sense to counter Charlie's memory. i believe they are trying to show us that he sucked up all the powers at kirby plaza (ie DL's phasing out of the ropes) and some unknown powers in the time after kirby (ie blue electric bolt thingy).

Yeah, lets not forget who's neckless Petey has been sporting.

This is what I was thinking as well, but why? It's been 4 months. Plenty of things could have happened in between but The Haitian was working with Angela Petrelli, too. Why would The Haitian wipe out Peter's memory? Was it an instruction that was to be carried out after the explosion regardless of the outcome so that Peter wouldn't have to live with the thought of killing millions? Was The Haitian acting on his own? Or did he receive instructions from the company (OWI) to do it? So many questions, so much time until next week.

Hmm, now that I think about it...I don't recall the Haitian having his necklace when he met Bennet in Copy Kingdom at the end of Lizards. O_o

Also, Peter isn't aware of most of the abilities he got from Sylar, just a few Sylar openly used that required active concentration. At least, thats how it seems to me. And...it will make sense, when Episode 8 Airs. ''Four Months Ago''.

I had a strange thought a bit ago...
What if Peter is trying to find the paintings that HRG and the Haitian are looking for.
If Peter doesn't have memory loss he is faking it really well; or something else is going on with his lack of memory and that neckless. Maybe only the Haitian can remove it and his memory will return...

I am totally guessing here but it is fun.

First the girls power is to remember anything she learns so she could learn a language instantly..etc. She does not have the power to remember no matter what so if she got in a accident she could very well lose her memory.

Second even if she had the power you thought she had the Haitians mind wipe would still work because he could simultaneously neutralize her power while wiping her mind making it so when he was done while she have her power she wouldn't realize she has to remember anything therefore she wouldn't.

Third, even if Peter absorbed all of Sylars power its not like he knows every single power he has hence he uses the same powers over & over as they are powers he knows he has.

And lastly, he is amnesiac so even if he know he had her power and her power was what you thought it was he could not use it to remember because he doesn't know who he is and what powers he has.

In the end if Peter gets his memories back, it will be because of a combination of seeing what is in that box and Claire's regenerative abilities regenerating said memories after there triggered by what's in the box. This seems the most probable way of getting his memory back short of someone having a power to reverse the Haitians memory wipe through healing his mind or something.

So does the storyline make sense, yes of course it does lol.

I wouldn't put it past Angela to know that Peter is alive and still torture Nathan about killing his brother.

That would explain the misterious guy who put him in the car and is making him do things. Where did the guy get the box with all the information about Peter, very convienient don't you say. Maybe it is somebody from the company who want to find out the limits to Peters power and this was the only way to accomplish it. Angela did seam to think he was dead tho but she might just wanted things to put in the box. But the haitian was sick and couldn't use his powers very good either.

When it comes to the necklace, the haitian did not put the necklace on the people that he took their memory so that would have had to be something that he got before he lost his memory. Now, the haitian giving it too him as a present is possible but that doesn't mean he wiped his memory afterwards.

Lastly, why would she torture Nathan about killing his brother. She wants him to become president and he cannot do this drunk. They have a 5 year plan which she would try to still nurture. It's Nathan that is torturing himself and she is not doing well to help him get over it. Her agreeing that Peter is alive and just staying away right now would help her better in the political arena.

With the whole charlie being special.. i thought that the memory thing just came from the fact that she had a what was it... um... blood clot in the brain that made her remember a lot of things.

eidetic memory doesn't work like that... it just means that we can consciously access our subconscious... this gives the appearance of knowing more and being able to process information quicker.

everybody stores all the information they acquire in there subconscious, but most cannot access this information.

if i were to lose my memory, i'd still lose my memory... amnesia doesn't erase the information, it just disconnects the paths to it.

i don't wish to comment on how peter lost his memory, but i do have a strange thought crossing my mind...

in season one peter was good- he was aware of himself and gradually got "power" over his powers...

but what happens when you take a person with no sence of self put him with a bunch of irish goons and thugs, and make him realize he is all powerful (and regenerating!) could we see peter crossing over to the bad side?

This brings to mind a probably silly question. If Peter were split in half (vertically), would both halves of him regrow into Peters, kinda like an earthworm?

If he were split in half vertically, that would mean that his brain would also be split in half & therefore destroyed. Without the brain intact, I don't think regeneration could occur.

I posted a theory over in the speculation thread, and I'm too lazy to post the link I'm guessing that the Haitian acted on his own, and probably wiped the memories of Nathan and Angela as well.
