Just wanted to point out the different responses we got from the characters when they were asked about the helix...
Angela says its the crest of her husbands firm, Ando says its Kensei's crest ( which is really from the sword maker ... so my guess is either kensei or the swordmaker are the founders of The Company) and i think i heard someone else say it was a sign from Kaito's company but i may be wrong... let me know what you think about this

Yep, there are a few different explanations for it - The "Helix" in Isaac Mendez's Helix Comics, the kanji combo of "Sai" and "Yo" for "Great Talent" and "Godsend", the Serpent and Crane which you can see in the latest comic in the first panel here and last one here, supposedly in the logo of Mr. Petrelli's law firm, in Chandra Suresh's algorithm to find the ones with special abilities, plus other appearances with no explanation, such as Jessica's tattoo, in Mohinder the Lizard's terrarium, and from the sword maker, to name a few.

TPTB are just attachin' a bunch of different meanings to it, depending on the character. And next is my interpretation of HEROES Helix Symbol...

i didnt mean about the different times we've seen the helix... just about the way that the old school generation used it...

i think the symbol, is a sign of safety for those with special abilities.

mr. petrelli's lawfirm uses it. the sword smith uses it. yamagato uses it. what if this this company is a underground saftey unit, to protect those with abilities? the symbol could be used as a way to signify that someone with abilities works there, and they'll be safe.

so if someone with abilities is looking for a lawyer, they see petrelli's company uses the logo, and they go there because they know they will be safe.

the mystery of the company is what makes it scary, but in reality, they are trying to do good for those with abilities.

could be it... but i think it has a deeper meaning than that

i still predict the Symbol™ will never have one single "true" meaning, but rather multiple meanings

a section of RNA, Sai+Yo, a winged serpent, a very stylized "J", etc.

of course part of me has always wondered if the various characters were seeing it in dreams *glances at Sanjog Iyer*

The symbol can kind of be like the glyphs used in the Blade movies. Basically, if you're a special you can find others who can (hopefully) help you if you see this marking.

Maybe (piggybacking off of another thread), the symbol drawn one way is one group and drawn another way is another group. Depending on how it's drawn, you either go to the organization displaying it or run away as fast as you can.
BlastOff
All this talk of the symbol makes me wonder why it was in the pool at the scene of Molly's parents' murder.

or in that plate of pasta when Claude nicked some guy's cell phone (which, incidentally, is my vote for "best Symbol cameo")
