in chapter 2 maya n' her brother reached this lady n' maya fell asleep when she woke up there there others there n' a lady said she was a healer n' held mayas hands n' said its a new illness n' got freaked out. ( does that lady actually have an ability? )

I think it's on the borderline or fiction/non-fiction like improved hearing with people who become blind.

If she didn't have an ability then I'd like to know how she knew so much about Mayah.

It looked as if she had some ability that recognizes diseases and gets rid of them if possible.
In mayas case though she seemed powerless cause her virus is too strong for the womans ability.
That's why the woman said that "nobody can cure you, you are cursed".

I mean if she wouldn't have this kind of ability she wouldn't call it "healing" herself, nor would she be able to locate the virus in mayas body(she even told her that the virus is black).

Interesting character but obviously only a guest one for this scene.

I heard that in some religions they believe some people have certain abilities like, seers, healers, dreamers, chanellers, etc. Since this show is based on the Uluru myth that lady may have a power but I don't think they intend on using her as a "heroe".

i don't think this lady could have an ability. i believe she was a normal "psychic", getting her information off of her body language.

maya was scared and terrified or what she might do, and the "psychic" understood and noted that and told her that she was cursed (i can't remember what she said off hand), which maya is.

EDIT: i don't agree with my post that was made. i rewatched the ep today, and she cold possibly have a power. but i don't know. unless we see the character again, i guess we'll never know

I think la curandera did display a power. There seemed to be an effect similar to the one the show uses when Matt is mind-reading. I think that they did this to indicate she was using a power. I'm not sure exactly what the power is, but I'm guessing it is to see the "essence" of a person.

Last time i went to the doctor, he didnt sit down in front of me and hold my hands lol. So far we have seen duplicate powers. The only duplicated power that comes to mind with the "healer" is linderman. Maybe shes the next generation of Linderman!

I think that woman is just your average faith healer. There are lots of healers like that. They don't only heal physical illness but also gets rid of evil spirits and curses. They use herbs in healing and they find out about the patients illness by touching them while chanting. I've actually met one of those healers. My mom took me to one when I was a child because I suddenly collapsed and started acting weird. The woman did the same thing to me. She held my hand and closed her eyes and did a little chanting. After that she said I was cursed by an evil spirit of some sort. Of course, I didn't believe her but after she did some weird rituals, I actually felt a whole lot better.


So I don't really think that woman fits on the "Heroes" category.
