Boyfriend of the Week - Zachary Quinto
Zachary Quinto
DOB: June 2, 1977 Height: 6'2"
Eyes: Brown Series: Heroes; Upcoming film Star Trek Character: Sylar, Spock
If you watch Heroes… oh, scratch that.
If you've read the news at all lately, then the name Zachary Quinto has to be just the slightest bit familiar to you. Ever since the announcement broke that the dastardly-evil-yet-yummy superpower-stealing villain from Heroes would be playing the new Spock, it's difficult to glance at entertainment news without hearing about him. And to this sudden onslaught of fame for an incredibly gifted but often overlooked actor like Zachary, we here at FADPOV can only say "YAY!"
Having played in such roles as the once-there, now-gone Adam on 24, the brilliantly flamboyant and lovable GBFF, Sasan in So NoTORIous, and the aforementioned super-powered super-villain Sylar on Heroes, Zachary Quinto is as versatile as his equally impressive vocabulary. These factors, combined with his ruggedly dark good-looks, and his genuine affability towards his fans are just some of the reasons FADPOV chose him as this week's Boyfriend of the Week.
In fact, everyone on the staff had something to say...
Jeni: If you don't watch Heroes you don't know what you're missing. This man can play a crazy, creepy killer like nobody's business... and make you root for him, too! The scruff, the hair, the voice, the eyebrows - especially those eyebrows - he's got it all going for him. I mean, I can't remember ever before watching a show down between a good guy and bad guy and not wanting either of them to lose! Way to go Zachary for making Sylar so cool!
Sarah: Zachary Quinto is what I like to call 'sneaky hot'. Like, at first, you see him, and you think, "wow, okay, he's pretty easy on the eyes", but then? You see him giving incredible performances in vastly different roles, comedy and drama, sassy bff to evil villain, and he's just *really good*, so that makes him more attractive. And then you listen to or read some of his interviews, and you realize that he's awfully clever, and seems to have invested a lot of thought into his work and his life, and that makes him even *more* attractive. And then you hear that he really does eat ice cream with sprinkles, and he's been cast as Spock, and then, the final nail in the coffin, you see him on some magazine cover with an abundance of stubble and eyeliner, and you realize "holy CRAP, that dude is SMOKIN'." So, yes. He's sneaky hot, and I dig that about him.
Amanda: I think there was once a time when I simply thought of him as an extremely versatile actor who was fascinating to watch, but I can't really remember what those days were like. Because inevitably, as I watched him, I noticed how when he smiles, those huge brown eyes light up in such a sweet way. And then I saw how in interviews, five-syllable words came out of his mouth quite naturally, and I thought, "Oh my God. He's also intelligent and thoughtful? Suddenly, he looks even cuter than he did before." And then there was the way he looked eating ice cream on my TV on May 14th and... I was completely overwhelmed. He's funny, and smart, and adorably hot, and - wait a minute? Why am I encouraging readers to like him? He's mine! All mine!
T: I can't say enough about how much I adore Zachary - and I sound like such a fangril when I do! One moment it's his gifted acting skills (seriously one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood), the next it's his intelligence and down-to-earth manner, and I'm seriously unable to keep from pointing out how amazingly attractive the man is without being, you know, too pretty. While I loved Heroes from the beginning, Zachary's portrayal of Sylar (a character I hated at first) is an absolute joy to watch! I'd be completely decimated over losing him for a few episodes this season if it wasn't that I'm equally anxious to see him as Spock! Live long and prosper, Zachary - and we'll all be right there with you!
Dawn: It's been a long time since anybody on TV's made evil so damn sexy. I mean, Sylar's a fangirl's dream character - he started out as the adorable nerd in those dorky glasses, working on his watches, then morphed into Crazy Megalomaniac Supervillain. I want to hate him, but really I just want to cuddle with him. Even though he'd steal my brain.
Noel: Gorgeous and versatile, Zachary can by turns make me laugh, ache, shiver, and swoon. Not many people can make an audience feel sorry for a brain-sucking homicidal maniac, but he somehow manages to do it. He also manages to rock both the geek look and the sinister billowy-trenchoat-plotting-to-explode-the-city look. I even fear I will develop massive lustful feelings for Spock when ZQ dons his pointy ears for a certain upcoming film...
Justine: Ah, Zachary Quinto... I have to admit he wasn't the top of my boyfriend list (shock and horror!). But I also have the admit that, damn, the boy has style. The brooding epitome of tall, dark and handsome, the way he rocks that hair of his, the fact that he looks so hot in a suit! Actually, perhaps I'm more of a convert to his charms than I first believed. What I can tell you is that I certainly wouldn't kick him out for eating crackers in bed, that's for sure.
