Isaac was willing to die at Sylar's hands since he'd fulfilled what he thought his purpose was -- to show the other heroes how to kill Sylar

well, since Sylar is back in season 2, that makes Isaac's "heroic" death in season 1 utterly pointless

I wouldn't say it was totally pointless. Maybe it didn't mean as much as he thought, but there still was a purpose. His paintings showed future Mohinder to kill the Haitian and save present Hiro so he could return to the present. Hiro saw that he had to stab Sylar and by him doing so, he at least stopped Sylar temporarily. This allowed Nathan to be able to fly Peter up and prevent the explosion from causing massive destruction. Plus it kept Sylar from killing new victims for 4 months and he's currently in a weaker state without his powers.

The purpose was to stop Sylar IMO, and they did. I guess it was prefordained[sic] to end tragically for Isaac.

We still don't know all the consequences for Sylar from the stab wound yet, so the jury is still out wink.gif

Or maybe they haven't seen how to kill him yet. It mightbe that the work in question is in the sketchbook, or elsewhere.

*Nods* I hope that the sketchbook will make a reappearance at some point and that, "Keep that safe, it might be worth something someday" might mean more than it first appeared.

But yeah... Isaac's death was pretty much a moot point by bringing Sylar back... of course, the Series of Eight never showed him either, so Isaac might have been wrong in assuming him dead because he didn't forsee him in any of those paintings...

Why would he tell Sylar he told them how to kill him, if the painting was nearby? Sylar could find it, and, theorectically, easily avoid it (although he knew he'd get stabbed, and didn't prevent that). Isaac had drawn that comic awhile ago (or was it "not yet"?) but he sounded as though this deed was a recent accomplishment.

Drawing a picture of Hiro stabbing him is a pretty lame way of "showing them how to kill Sylar". Had that killed him, it would have been more like "showing them that Hiro kills him".

I'm fairly certain a drawing in that sketchbook holds the answer.

Tim Sale told in an interview there is a sixth painting in the Inevitable/Isaad Dead series
